Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission opens 'Pathayam' Kiosk at Kottayam Civil Station premises

Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission opened a kiosk at Kottayam Civil Station premises to sell the agricultural products of Kudumbashree Joint Liability Groups and the products of the micro enterprises functioning in the district. Shri, Sudheer Babu IAS, District Collector, Kottayam inagurated the kiosk on 17 August 2019. Smt. Daisy, Smt. Mini and Smt. Siji from Kottayam North Kudumbhashree CDS are the entrepreneurs who are in charge of this venture.

The kiosk is named as 'Pathayam' which means granary. The products from Kottayam Municipal CDS and Vijayapuram, Puthuppally, Panachikkad, Kurichi, Ayarkkunnam, Ettumanoor, Thiruvarppu, Kumarakom and Athirampuzha panchayaths of Kottayam would be available for sale in the Pathayam kiosk. Gramashree rice, the branded rice produced by the farming collective in Vechur grama panchayath of Kottayam, Milky Latte, the branded value added products of milk produced by Kudumbashree would also be available for sale at Pathayam. It is also planned to deliver cut vegetable kits to the various offices functioning in Kottayam Civil Station as per the orders received.

ARISE Multi Task teams of Kudumbashree starts extending services in flood affected areas

ARISE Multi Task teams of Kudumbashree Mission has started extending their services in the flood affected areas. A total of 21 multi task teams had started their work. As per the statistics till 15 August 2019, eighty three members of these multi task teams had already completed the repairing of 78 houses/offices. The Multi task teams are providing services in switch board repairing, motor, gas stove, mixer grinder repairing, fan, broken pipe repairing, wiring, plug point replacement etc. They have extended their services in Mattanur, Sreekandapuram, Chengali of Kannur, Pulpally, Tirunelly of Wayanad, Pulikkal, Aliparambu of Malappuram, Parali, Karimba of Palakkad, Olavanna of Kozhikode, Manimala, Ayarkunnam of Kottayam, Valakom, Muvattupuzha of Ernakulam and North Punnapra of Alappuzha districts. In Kannur, they had provided electricity connection and are also acting as the house inspection team of KSEB.

During the unprecedented floods of August 2018, as many people lost their source of livelihood and many of them became jobless for months. Government of Kerala entrusted Kudumbashree to identify new source of livelihood for them and therefore Kudumbashree framed this project.  A survey was conducted to identify which all enterprises hold the maximum job opportunities and as a result 10 job sectors were identified. It was understood that, the number of service providers are too less in plumbing, electrical work, electronics repair, day care, housekeeping etc. On realizing that, it was decided to extend training and help them start enterprises in these sectors. And ARISE Programme (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Sustainable Employment) was launched. livelihood project.

As part of the ARISE programme, people were given training in electronics repair, plumbing and electrical work. As of now, 90 Multi Task Teams are functioning in around 60 Panchayaths. A one day workshop was conducted during July 2019 and 300 people came forward to launch their enterprises in such sectors. Government had issued a Government Order directing the Local Self Government Institutions to make use of the ARISE teams for these jobs. On the grounds of the disaster happened in  Wayanad, Idukki, Malappuram, Kannur districts, the ARISE teams was appealed to take up the plumbing, electrical jobs of the houses. It is aspired that, Kudumbashree ARISE team would become a major service provider by the end of this year

കുടുംബശ്രീ മുഖേന നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന 'കേരള ചിക്കന്‍' പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമാ യി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്ക് പത്ത് ലക്ഷം രൂപ വരെ ഈടില്ലാതെ ബാങ്ക് വായ്പ നല്‍കുന്നതിന് കുടുംബശ്രീയും ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയും കുടുംബശ്രീ ബ്രോയിലര്‍ ഫാര്‍മേഴ്സ് പ്രൊഡ്യൂസര്‍ കമ്പനി ലിമിറ്റഡും (കെബിഎഫ്പിസിഎല്‍) തമ്മില്‍ ത്രികക്ഷി കരാറിലെത്തി. കുടുംബശ്രീ എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍ എസ്. ഹരികിഷോര്‍, ബാങ്ക് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ കേരള സോണല്‍ മാനേജര്‍ വി. മഹേഷ് കുമാര്‍ കെബിഎഫ്പിസിഎല്‍ സിഇഒയും കുടുംബശ്രീ പ്രോഗ്രാം ഓഫീസറുമായ ഡോ. നികേഷ് കിരണ്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന് കരാറിലൊപ്പുവച്ചു. ഗുണമേന്മയേറിയ ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴി മിതമായ നിരക്കില്‍ കേരളത്തിലെവിടെയും ആവശ്യക്കാര്‍ക്ക് ലഭ്യമാക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്. ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ 1000 കര്‍ഷകര്‍ക്കാകും വായ്പ നല്‍കുക. പൗള്‍ട്രി ഫാമുകള്‍ ആരംഭിക്കാനോ വിപുലീകരിക്കാനോ ഈ തുക ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. മൂന്ന് ലക്ഷം രൂപ വരെ 9.95% പലിശനിരക്കിലും മൂന്ന് ലക്ഷത്തിന് മുകളില്‍ പത്ത് ലക്ഷം രൂപ വരെ 10.1% പലിശ നിരക്കിലുമാകും വായ്പ നല്‍കുക.

   തിരുവനന്തപുരം, പാലക്കാട്, കോഴിക്കോട് എന്നീ ജില്ലകളില്‍ ആധുനിക പൗള്‍ട്രി പ്രോസ സിങ് പ്ലാന്‍റുകളും ബ്രോയിലര്‍ സ്റ്റോക്ക് പേരന്‍റ് ഫാമുകളും ആരംഭിക്കും. തിരുവനന്തപുര ത്തെ മേഖലാ കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്‍റെ നിര്‍മ്മാണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞു. എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളി ലും കേരള ചിക്കന്‍ വിപണന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളും ആരംഭിക്കും. 1100 പേര്‍ ഇതുവരെ സംരംഭം തുടങ്ങാന്‍ മുന്നോട്ടു വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1000 കോഴികളെ വളര്‍ത്താന്‍ കഴിയുന്ന 5000 കര്‍ഷകരെ ഈ മേഖലയിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ച് അവരെ മികച്ച സംരംഭകരാക്കി മാറ്റുകയാണ് കുടുംബശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്യമി ടുന്നത്. നിരവധി പേര്‍ക്ക് ഇതുവഴി ഉപജീവന മാര്‍ഗ്ഗം നല്‍കാനും കഴിയും. 150 ഫാമു കളിലായി 1.50 ലക്ഷത്തോളം കോഴിക്കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി വളര്‍ത്തിത്തുട ങ്ങിക്കഴിഞ്ഞു. സെപ്റ്റംബറോടെ കേരള ചിക്കന്‍ ബ്രാന്‍ഡില്‍ ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴി വിപണിയിലെ ത്തിക്കും. ഉത്പാദനം വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കുന്നതോടെ ക്രമേണ ഇതര സംസ്ഥാനത്തു നിന്നെത്തുന്ന ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴിയുടെ ഉപഭോഗം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും കുറയ്ക്കാനാകും.

   കേരള ചിക്കന്‍ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായ ഫാമുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴികളെ വാങ്ങി പ്രോസസ് ചെയ്ത് ഫ്രോസണ്‍ ഇറച്ചിയായി വില്‍ക്കുന്നതിന് കെപ്കോ (കേരള പൗള്‍ട്രി വികസന കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍)യും മീറ്റ് പ്രൊഡക്ട്സ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ(എംപിഐ)യുമായി കുടുംബശ്രീ ധാരണയിലെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. തിരുവനന്തപുരം, പത്തനംതിട്ട, കൊല്ലം ജില്ലകളിലെ 55 യൂണിറ്റു കളില്‍ നിന്നാണ് കെപ്കോ ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴികളെ വാങ്ങുക. എറണാകുളം, കോട്ടയം ജില്ലകളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 100 യൂണിറ്റുകളില്‍ നിന്നാണ് എംപിഐ ഇറച്ചിക്കോഴികളെ വാങ്ങുന്നത്.

Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission is providing unflagging aid for the flood affected people. Alappuzha District Mission is offering their persistent support for the people who are in pain.Various activities are ongoing in the district under the leadership of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission. The District Mission is reaching out to the suffering people through various ways. As per the statistics on 12 August 2019, a total of 40 relief camps are opened in the district which have 3025 women and 2589 men as inmates who are rehabilitated in all those camps.

Community Kitchens are also conducted under the leadership of Kudumbashree members. A total of 30 commuity kitchens were conducted and 4000 people were benefited through the community kitchen activities of Kudumbashree. Services of community counsellors and santhwanam volunteers are also extended under the leadership of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission to overcome the mental trauma caused and to address their health issues. 775 people were benefited of the community counsellors whereas 100 were benefited of the service of santhwanam volunteers. Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission is extending selfless support for the aid of flood affected people in  the district.

Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission offering uninterrupted assistance for flood relief activities

Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission offering uninterrupted  assistance for flood relief activities in the district. As per the report on 12 August 2019, 32 relief camps are opened in the district. 2325 women and 2010 men are rehabilitated in the camps altogether. 23 community kitchens were conducted and 2797 people were benefited through the community kitchen activities. 177 Kg of and 32 Kg of vegetables were supplied through Kudumbashree. A total of 560 dresses and 155 packets of sanitary napkins were distributed through Kudumbashree. Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission is extending the services of community counsellors, santhwanam volunteers too. 156 people were benefited of the community counsellors whereas 343 were benefited of the santhwanam volunteers.

   Temporary stay for 35 families were arranged in the houses of NHG members. 1457 volunteers are actively participating in the flood relief activities. A total of 916 houses and 18 streets and roads in the district were cleaned altogether. Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission is extending relentless support to those who are badly affected by the floods.

Kudumbashree Malappuram District Mission in forefront to extend flood relief suppor

Kudumbashree Malappuram District Mission in forefront to extend flood relief support. Malappuram is one of the districts which was severely affected by the floods this time. 204 camps had already been started in Malappuram. More than 65 CDS of Kudumbashree are affected by the floods. Atleast 9 camps were started in each CDS regions. Kudumbashree is in the forefront to help helping hands to the  flood affected people. Kudumbashree had took up the cooking charge in as many relief camps, are active in cleaning and also mobilised needed items to the camps under the leadership of respective ADSs.

Snehitha Gender Help Desk of the district was also flooded and is closed now. But the community counsellors, Gender core team members, Gender Resource Persons etc are reaching out to the people and are extending counselling support ans are helping them get out of the trauma. Kudumbasheee District Mission is planning to start a collection centre in District Mission Office to collect more items. Malappuram District Collector had directed the District Mission to form a cleaning team at Kavalappara, where severe landslide had happened and also in other flood affected areas in the district. Kudumbashree had set up a team including staff and CDS members. Once the flood water would be drained off these places, Kudumbashree teams will start the cleaning activities.

Kudumbashree Kozhikode District Mission providing relentless support to the flood relief activities

Kudumbashree Kozhikode District Mission providing relentless support to the flood relief activities in the district. More than 60,000 people are rehabilitated in 319 relief camps altogether. As per the statistics till 11 August 2019, Kudumbashree  District Mission extended services to 51,360 people by taking up the kitchens in 284 camps. 2725 Kg food items, 360 Kg vegetables, 6000 dress materials, bed sheets, mats and 1600 packets of Sanitary Napkins were collected and distributed among the various relief camps. Community Counsellors extended counselling to 10,681 people in 48 camps.1747 families were provided temporary stay in the houses of NHG members.Kudumbashree members are active in cleaning activities and coordinated 1079 cleaning activities.

As directed by the District Collector of Kozhikode, Kudumbashree members cleaned the toilets and surroundings of the relief camps during 12-1PM and ensure that everthing is clean. Kudumbashree District Mission had been directed by the District Collector to provide Kudumbashree volunteers for cleaning activities which would be started within two days. Kudumbashree Kozhikode District Mission had ensured District Administration to provide 200 volunteers each from each CDS. The list would be handed over to the district administration soon. Kudumbashree Kozhikode District Mission is indeed showing the real heights of compassion.

Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission lends helping hands to flood relief activities in the district. Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission had been in the forefront to extend support to those in distress starting from the very first days of flood havoc. They had been extending relentless support under the leadership of respective CDS Chairpersons. Chirkkal CDS had bought and distributed bedsheets and clothes worth Rs. 13,500 from the money which they had been saving for theie Kudumbashree CDS Anniversary Programmes. Items like dresses, biscuits and soaps were collected under the leadership of Snehitha Gender Help Desk functioning in the district. The same was handed over to the camps.

Ancharakkandi CDS handed over clothes worth Rs. 13,600 whereas clothes worth Rs. 15,325 was handed over by Kottayam CDS. Kadambur CDS handed over dress and cleaning items worth Rs. 24,219. Cleaning activities were started in Anthoor and Iritty areas. Santhwanam team members were also actively extending support to those in distress. The relief and rehabilitation activities are ongoing in the district in full pace.

533 DFK Family Members receives MGNREGS Job Cards Through Adalats. As part of the Annual Action Plan for 2018-19, Social Development team of Kudumbashree Ernakulam District Mission has conducted job card Adalats in 94 Local Self Government Institutions (LSGIs) in the district to identify the destitute people who can be provided jobs through MGNREGS scheme by providing them job cards. The card less destitute people who have turned up for adalats were encouraged to submit applications for the job card in the respective Local Self Government Institutions and the Community Development Societies (CDS) have provided the necessary help to these people for obtaining their job cards.

   So far 533 people in various  Local Self Government Institutions have obtained job cards with the help of the CDSs. Most of these people are going for jobs and earning some money for their livelihood. 302 more applications have been submitted in various  Local Self Government Institutions for obtaining job cards.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, MGNREGA), is an Indian labour law and social security measure that aims to guarantee the 'right to work'. It aims to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.
