Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission organizes Quiz Competition in connection with the Constitution Literacy Programme

Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission organizes Quiz Competition in connection with the Constitution Literacy Programme. The CDS level activities of Kudumbashree's Constitution Literacy Programme was started on 26 November 2022, the National Constitution Day to bring basic information related to the Constitution of India to 46 lakh Kudumbashree families. It is as part of this, Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission organized the quiz competition at the district level, which has attracted a lot of attention.
 
 The competition was between the CDS teams of the district. CDS from 27 CDSs, a three-member team consisting of Chairperson, CDS Accountant and District Mission Team member in charge of CDS was formed for each CDS.
 
Indian Constitution, General Knowledge, Kudumbashree Schemes and Bye Law Questions were answered by the CDSs within no time.  After a fierce battle which consisted of five rounds including audio-visual rounds, Meppadi CDS team (Ms. Bini Prabhakaran - Chairperson, Ms. Safia Faisal - Vice Chairperson, Ms. Aswathi - District Programme Manager- Marketing) won the first position.
 
Mananthavady 1 CDS (Ms. Valsa Martin - Chairperson, Ms. Reshma B- MIS Block Coordinator, Mr. Sarath - Micro Enterprise Consultant) came in the second place and Thavinjal CDS (Ms. Sheeja - Chairperson , Ms. Mridula - Accountant and Mr. Siraj - Micro Enterprise/Marketing Block Co-ordinator) secured the third position. Mr. E. Suresh Babu, District Coordinator, Navakeralam Project was the quiz master. Shri. P.K. Balasubramanian, District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission and Shri. P. Vasu Pradeep, Assistant District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission and Community Councilors moderated the programme.
 
At the state level, trainings were organized as part of the constitutional literacy programme in all 1070 CDSs. Constitutional awareness activities are being organized at the NHG level with various programmes in all the districts this past Saturday and Sunday and upcoming Saturday and Sunday. It includes quiz programmes as well as literacy classes, seminars and discussions.
 
In connection with this literacy campaign, on 1 November 2022, Kerala Legislative Assembly organized a training for 100 Kudumbashree Master Trainers under the joint auspices of the Media and Parliamentary Study Centre (K-LAMPS) and Kudumbashree.

Kudumbashree's Sudrudam Campaign a huge success

The 'Sudrudam' campaign implemented with the aim of bringing more families under the umbrella of the Kudumbashree organizational system has been a huge success. As part of the campaign, 4673 new NHGs were formed across the state. Through these new NHGs, 53,199 new families became part of Kudumbashree. And 16,891 people became part of the existing Kudumbashree NHGs. 
 
Another highlight is that 709 elderly NHGs, 168 differently-abled NHGs and 3 transgender NHGs have been formed as part of the 'Sudrudam' Campaign. With this, there is a golden opportunity for the elderly, differently abled and transgenders to get various supports and more from being part of the Kudumbashree system.
 
As part of the campaign, activities to revive inactive NHGs, accounting training for newly formed NHGs, insurance camps and health camps were organized. In some districts, Balasabha and micro-enterprise formation activities and get togethers for senior citizens were also conducted.

A group of NHG members from Kollam makes their dream of flight journey come true

A group NHG members from Kollam district has made their dream of flight journey come true. The NHG members who conquered the sky include a 78-year-old woman.  It's the members of Sreemuruga NHG, Vellanathuruth of Mukumpuzha Ward, Alappad Panchayath of  Kollam District, who set out on a flight journey on 22 November 2022.   It was a celebratory trip with flights and visits to shopping malls. 9 people including  Ms.Satheerathnam, the 78-year-old from the NHG has enjoyed the unforgettable flight journey.
 
Ms. Salina Vinayakumar, who is also the secretary of the NHG and former panchayat president and Ms. Sindhu Kumudesan, the president of the NHG, took the initiative to arrange such a trip for their members. The group traveled from Kollam to Ernakulam and then traveled by Kochi Metro before reaching Thiruvananthapuram from Nedumbassery. They also visited the shopping mall in Thiruvananthapuram.
 
The money for the group flight journey was raised from the profits received from various income-generating activities, including the enterprise they have been running for years called 'Sreemuruga Catering'. Other members of the NHG which was formed on 23 April 1998 include Ms. Suprabha, Ms. Maniyamma, Ms. Usha, Ms. Aisha, Ms. Pen Sakumari, Ms. Jayalakshmi and Ms. Latha. These neighbors are a role model for all who are able to grasp the desires of life with their own hard earned income.

Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission arranges ' Athlos 2022'- Tribal Sports Meet

Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission arranged 'Athlos 2022' Tribal Sports Meet at KAP 4th Battalion Ground, Mangattuparambu, Kannur on 20 November 2022. The ground indeed witnessed firefights. History was made when 550 athletes selected from 25 Scheduled Tribes Gram Panchayats of the district battled it out on the ground track and field as part of 'Athlos 2022' in pursuit of greater speed, height and distance. The 'Athlos' sports fair organized by the Kannur District Mission has earned the reputation of being the largest tribal sports fair in Kannur district. The 'Athlos' Sports Meet organized by the Kannur District Mission has earned the reputation of being the largest Tribal Sports Meet in Kannur district.
 
Organized for the first time as part of the Kudumbashree Scheduled Tribes Sustainable Development Project, 44 competitions were staged in 11 events in junior and senior categories. The Competition was at CDS level. Shri. M.V Govindan Master MLA, Former Local Self-Government Minister  inaugurated the Sports Meet. Whereas Dr. V. Sivadasan MP gave away prizes to the winners.
 
The competitions were organized for boys and girls in the age group of 10 to 23. Ten to 16-year-olds competed in the junior category and 17 to 23-year-olds competed in the senior category. The events were 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4-100m relay, 800m walk, long jump, high jump, discus throw, javelin throw and shot put.
 
Aralam Kudumbashree CDS won the overall championship with 60 points, while Kolayad got 47 points and secured second place. The third place was secured by Chittariparamba with 38 points. Rithu Balakrishnan (Chittariparamba CDS) and Aryananda (Kelakam CDS) in the junior category and Arun Raj (Chittariparamba CDS) and Nandana K (Kolayad CDS) in the senior category were the fastest players of the meet. Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission has set a new model by organizing such a sports event for the youth of the tribal region.

Cancer Awareness Campaign of Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission receives the appreciation of the Health Minister

The Cancer Awareness Campaign of Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission has received the appreciation of the Health Minister of the Government of Kerala. Ms. Veena George, Health Minister, Government of Kerala congratulated Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission for organizing campaign against cervical cancer and breast cancer. The Minister appreciated the work of Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission while inaugurating the campaign on 17 November 2022 at Sulthan Batheri, Wayanad. The campaign has been organized with the help of O&G Society.
 
Kudumbashree's Wayanad Team started such a campaign in the context of increasing incidence of cancer among women in Kerala. Under the leadership of Kudumbashree Gender Resource Centers (GRCs), the campaign aims to spread cancer awareness to maximum number of people and tell them about preventive measures. The message will be delivered to one lakh Kudumbashree families in the district within a period of one month. Classes will be conducted by qualified doctors.
 
Ms. Elsy Paulose, Deputy Chairperson, Sulthan Bathery Municipality presided over the ceremony. Dr. Omana Madhusoodhanan welcomed the gathering on behalf of O&G Society. Sally Thomas, Tom Jose, Lisha Teacher, Shamila Junais, Various Standing Committee Chairpersons of the municipality, K.C. Yohannan, Arif, Councilors and others paid their felicitations. BalasubramanianDistrict Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission explained the project. Dr. Sivakumar, Dr. Suma Vishnu, Dr Kalpana, Dr. Uma Randhir and  Asha Paul, District Programme Manager,  Kudumbashree gave leadership to the programme. 
 
A rally was also organized from Assumption Junction to Swathanthra Maidan of Sulthan Bathery in connection with the inauguration, in which Kudumbashree members and students of Vinayaka School of Nursing, Assumption School of Nursing, St. Mary's College and Don Bosco College also participated.

Samanwayam Campaign begins

Kudumbashree's 'Samanwayam 2022' Campaign has been started for the timely completion of the work to integrate the requirements of the Rural Poverty Alleviation Plan/Urban Poverty Alleviation Plan documents prepared by Kudumbashree with the Annual Plan 2023-24 of the Local Self-Governments.
 
As part of this, training was organized for the training team members in charge of CDS on 18 November 2022. They will provide training to the CDS Committee. Member Secretary, Plan Clerk, CDS Chairperson, Sub-Committee Conveners and Accountant will sit together and update the Rural/Urban Poverty Alleviation Plans prepared last year. A special CDS meeting was held for the campaign on 23 November 2022 and a special ADS general assembly was held on 25 and 26 November 2022 with the participation of ward members. On 27 November 2022, the CDS draft plans was prepared dividing into 13 topics on the basis of the working group. Thus the campaign activities will continue.

Kudumbashree officials took part in Goal Challenge Campaign for a Drug-Free Kerala. The Kudumbashree State Mission employees also took up the enthusiasm of the goal challenge that Kudumbashree conducted on 19 & 20 November 2022 for a drug-free Kerala with the slogan of 'football addiction'. Shri. Jafar Malik IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree  inaugurated the 'Goal Challenge' organized  from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Turf in Murinjapalam, Thiruvananthapuram on 19 November 2022. A total of 138 goals were netted by the officials of Kudumbashree State Mission.
 
As part of the second phase of the anti-drug campaign organized by the state government, 46 lakh members of the three lakh NHGs in the state, Kudumbashree employees, Resource Persons and training team members are all coming as part of the ongoing goal challenge. A penalty shootout competition and a football quiz competition are being organized as part of the goal challenge. The Goal Challenge is organized at the CDS level in association with schools and clubs in the respective area.

Kudumbashree makes a strong presence at the India International Trade Fair

Kudumbashree made a strong presence at the 41st India International Trade Fair (IITF) organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14 November 2022 under the aegis of India Trade Promotion Organization and Union Ministry of Rural Development. The commercial stall for marketing the products in the Kerala Pavilion at IITF has two stalls for marketing the various products of NHG members from 14 districts. Also, a special themed stall has also been set up to explain Kudumbashree livelihood activities/enterprise projects based on the theme 'Vocal for Local, Local to Global'. The food court adjacent to the fair also has Kudumbashree Cafe units (Karuna from Kozhikode district and Sree Vigneshwara from Ernakulam district).
 
IITF also hosts Saras Mela, which is organized by the National Rural Livelihood Mission to promote the best products of rural entrepreneurs across India. Saras Mela has six stalls of Kudumbashree entrepreneurs. Megha, Vandanam, Chamundeshwari, Ushas, Sangeetha and Shree Aambal units from Palakkad, Wayanad, Idukki and Ernakulam districts are participating in Saras Mela. The fair will conclude on 27 November 2022.

'Arivoonjal', the Special Children's Day Special Magazine Released

'Arivoonjal', the Special Children's Day Special Magazine has been released. The Children's Day Edition 'Arivoonjal', written and edited by Kudumbashree Balasabha members, was released on 14 November 2022 by  Dr Renu Raj IAS, Ernakulam District Collector and Ms Rima Kallingal, cine actor. The  special edition was launched at the closing ceremony of the State BUDS Festival.
 
This Special Children's Day Edition includes stories, poems, travelogues, memoirs and interviews.  The Editorial Board which consists of Ayush Praveen (Editor), Fatima Anchum, Fatima Sanha P, Gayathri. R, Parvathy M.S, Sania P.S and Shruthimol.P are the ones who bring out this Children's Day Special Magazine

Kudumbashree Entrepreneurs tickle the taste buds of National Workshop Representatives

Kudumbashree Entrepreneurs has indeed tickled the taste buds of  the National Workshop Representatives. The 9 Kudumbashree units, more than 100 people for cooking assistance and 20 AIFRHM (Abedha Institute of Food Research and Hospitality Management) trainers for supervision.  The Mar Athanasius Jubilee Memorial Hall, Akaparamp, near Ernakulam CIAL Convention Center, had indeed turned into a culinary hub.  They were busy preparing food for about 3000 people who came to participate in the Three-Day National Workshop on 'Localization of Sustainable Development Goals in Gram Panchayats' which was started in CIAL on 14 November 2022.
 
The cuisine was based on the menu consisting of 'North Indian and South Indian' food dishes according to the taste and interest of those who come from different states of India. On the first day of the National Workshop, a total of 13,000 meals were prepared for five meals including breakfast. Food was prepared for 10,000 people in four meals the second day.
 
The cooked food is packed and is transported to the venue in three vehicles. There were 85 Kudumbashree members trained by  AIFRHM to serve food in CIAL. Paneer Butter Masala, Pulao, Dal, Veg Jalfrezi, Aloo Mutter, Green Salad along with Chicken Roast, Fish Curry, Fish Fry, Mutton Roast, Palada and Dal Payasam were prepared for the lunch. The second day's attraction was dishes like Chicken Chettinad, Dal Makhani, Kerala Parotta, Kappa, Chutney, Kadai Veg Curry and Tribal Special Vanasundari Chicken. Everyone gave 100 out of 100 marks for the food prepared by Kudumbashree units.
 
Kudumbashree's one unit from Thiruvananthapuram district (Brittana), three units from Ernakulam district (Samrudhi, Yuvashree, Bismi), two units from Kozhikode district (Shreyas, Souparnika) and one unit each from Thrissur, Malappuram and Palakkad districts (Sreemuruga, Cafe, Tribal) were engaged in this catering task.
