Kudumbashree launched ARISE (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Self Employment), the state level campaign for extending skill training. The campaign was launched at Thiruvananthapuram on 15 December 2015. The poster of the ARISE campaign was launched by Shri. A.C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Governments, Government of Kerala by giving to Shri S. Harikishore IAS, Exective Director, Kudumbashree Mission. The campaign aims at extending skill training to 50,000 flood affected families, thereby equipping them for paid employment. The campaign mainly aims at helping them in attaining resilience.

Those who reside in the non flood affected areas can also become part of the skill training programme. The tenure of the training programme will be 3 months. Interested men from Kudumbashree families can also become part of the programme. Along with helping people to start individual-group enterprises the campaign also aims at strengthening the micro enterprise sector of Kudumbashree. A survey was conducted using Kudumbashree Block Coordinators for finding out the sectors in which NHG women are interested. It was found that data entry, plumping, electronic repairing, electrical works, agriculture related jobs, laundry, ironing, sales, housekeeping, day care etc are the sectors in which they are interested. It was understood that by extending training they could get an income of their own which would help in eradicating their poverty.

The campaign activities are started in all districts, As per this, those who register will be given skill training. Interested people may make registrations at their respective CDSs from 15 December 2018- 1 January 2019. The training will be conducted during 1 Jan 2019 to 31 March 2019. The skill training would be extended through Government accredited training agencies and empanelled training agencies.

Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission organised Thudi Tribal Cultural Fest splendidly. The one day tribal fest was organised at Malampuzha Grama Panchayath hall during November 2018. Shri. V. S Achuthananthan, MLA and Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission inaugurated the programme. Shri. V. S Achuthananthan appreciated Kudumbashree Mission for organizing such a mega event, which involved participants from different tribal hamlets. The programme envisaged the upliftment of tribal community to the main stream by empowering their cultural art forms, livelihood activities, ethnic food culture and hand craft products etc. Around 500 tribal Kudumbashree members and their families participated in the function.

Tribal folk play, Kaadar Nritham, Malayar Adivasi dance, Urula Dance and Kottum Muravum Kuzhalum etc was presented at the Tribal Arts Fest.The tribe folk play holds a vital role in transmitting the history, cultural traditions, and the way of living to new generations. Tribal songs and dances are the main media by which transmission is done. Kaadar Nritham is one of the common tribal dance forms of Kerala where only women participate. The performers arrange themselves in a semicircle during the performance. This dance form is popular among the Kadar tribe and is a primitive form. It is simple but a very elegant dance form. The food fest aimed at the promotion of tribal foods and their traditions. Three groups participated and exhibited their traditional cuisines. Main attractions of the food fest were mulayari puttu, mulayari payasam, kasthuri manjal payasam,ragi kali, cholam kali, njandu kari, kappa puzhungiyathum naadan kozhikariyum, pickles made from various forest products, pullu kappi etc.

Tribal fest concluded as memorable event as Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission made it a great success by including the whole tribal communities with a great intention of promote them to main stream of the society. By organizing this program Kudumbashree District Mission of Palakkad could gather around 500 tribal families from various colonies and given broad opportunities to present their inheriting skills in front of mass crowd.

Following the success in extending the state of the art facility management services to Kochi Metro Rail Limited, and Ernakulam Vyttila Mobility Hub, Kudumbashree also took up the fee collection in Vyttila Mobility Hub. Kudumbashree Facility Management Centre acquired the fee collection contract for collecting parking, bus entry, toilet user fees etc through open tender. The contract regarding the same was signed between Shri. T.P Geevargheese, District Mission Co-ordinator, Kudumbashree Ernakulam District Mission and Smt. R.Girija IAS, Managing Director, Vytilla Mobility Hub. Kudumbashree took up the duty at midnight on 8 December 2018 and started fee collection.

Along with the house keeping and security services, Kudumbashree women had also been taking care of gardening sector as well. It is on following the notable and successful implementation of the services provided in Kochi Metro Rail Limited, that Kudumbashree Mission was entrusted with the facility management services of Kochi Vyttila Mobility Hub. By taking over the fee collection Vyttilla Mobility Hub, Kudumbashree became in charge of all the management services of Ernakulam Vyttilla Mobility Hub. Vyttila Mobility Hub is an integrated transit terminal in the city of Kochi, designed as a converging point of various forms of public transportation, such as local and long distance buses, metro rail and inland water transport.

The second phase of Kudumbashree School has been started in all districts across Kerala from 1 December 2018. Over 43 lakh Kudumbashree NHG members from 2.77 Lakh Neighbourhood Groups will become part of the Second phase of Kudumbashree School. Kudumbashree School is the informal education programme which is executed coordinating with the NHGs which envisages to improve the intellectual quality of common women. Kudumbashree School training programme was launched last year to create awareness among the Kudumbashree NHG members about their social responsibilities and improve their standard of living through knowledge. 

The classes will be conducted for a period of 7 weeks where each NHG member should spend 2 hours weekly.  There will be a master trainer at the ADS (Area Development Society) level who will facilitate classes at ward level. One master trainer at ADS level will facilitate classes in 7 NHGs. There will be two master trainers, if there are more than seven NHGs in a ward.  Six topics will be present before the members and over 43000 resource persons will be handling the classes at NHG level. Disaster Management and Family Financial management are the two important subjects included in the second phase of Kudumbashree School. After these sessions each family should prepare a disaster management plan and financial plan for reduce disaster situations and improve their standard of living. Each class of the Kudumbashree School will be monitored through a special designed mobile application. 

Kudumbashree School aims at the personality development and social, cultural, educational empowerment of women.The first phase of Kudumbashree School was officially launched by Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Government of Kerala on 21 October 2017.

The Mahila Mall, yet another feather in the cap of Kudumbashree Kozhikode Corporation CDS was launched. Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Government of Kerala inaugurated the Mahila Mall on 24 November 2018. The Mahilla Mall, run entirely by women is a unique project in the country, which is started by ten women of Unity Group under Kudumbashree Mission in an area of over 36,000 sqft. Mahila Mall, located at Wayanad road near Mavoor Road Junction is claimed to be first of its kind venture in the country.

Apart from Kudumbashree workers and groups, women societies and private entrepreneurs will get a space in the mall. 85 percent of the shops are owned by Kudumbashree groups while 15 percent are owned by private women entrepreneurs and other women collectives. Mahila Mall has 6 floors and out of that the 4th floor is allocated for women related offices and agencies while the rooftop is an open air food court. The Mall is designed for the women and is run by the women. All the shops in the mall have been sold out. The Mahila Mall project is executed with the support of Kozhikode Kudumbashree District Mission and it will also help women entrepreneurs to showcase their output in handicraft, fashion designing travel, tourism etc.

Apart from Kudumbashree workers and groups, women societies and private entrepreneurs will get space in the mall. The Mahila Mall provides direct employment to 250 women and indirect employment to 500 women. The mall has 79 shops including health clubs, martial arts centres, spa, skill training centres, food courts, textile shops,etc. The Mahila Mall is an icon of women’s empowerment achieved by Kudumbashree Mission. It provides an opportunity to small entrepreneurs to promote their business with the concept of Micro Bazar inside the Mahila Mall, which is one of the main attractions of the Kudumbashree Mall. There are a total of 24 micro bazaars which will offer customers home-made items manufactured by Kudumbashree entrepreneurs. The timing of Mahila Mall on week days will be from 10 AM to 10 PM and on weekends, the closing time will be extended till 11 PM. 79 ventures in the mall will be directly run by Kudumbashree entrepreneurs. The mall has 2 lift and the area is under 24 hour CCTV surveillance and good parking facility also provided near to the premise.

Kozhikode Corporation CDS had already successfully completed many other projects.

Kudumbashree Mission contribute an additional amount of Rs 4.18 crore to CMDRF, which altogether make a whopping total of Rs 11.18 crores. Shri. S. Harikishore IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission handed over the cheque to Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Government of Kerala in the presence of Shri. A.C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Governments, Government of Kerala at Chief Minister's Chamber on 31 October 2018.

Kudumbashree Mission had already contributed an amount of Rs 7 Crore to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. It is in addition to that, Rs 4.18 Crore is contributed. The major part of the amount was mobilized locally by pooling the weekly thrift collection of the NHG members based on the request of the Executive Director of Kudumbashree Mission. NHGs pooled those funds from various sources such as their contributions; amount kept aside for Onam celebrations etc was also added towards the cause. Apart from this, the Resource Persons, members of the Kudumbashree Accounts and Audit Service Society (KAASS) and Training Group Members had also made their individual contributions.

Even though majority of Kudumbashree members were badly affected by the flood, they have been in the forefront in the relief activity and cleaning exercises as well. Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) is the emergency assistance release mechanism granting immediate relief to families and individuals distressed by calamity, loss of life due to accidents and chronic diseases.

DDUGKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameeen Kaushalya Yojana) the skilling and placement programme for which Kudumbashree Mission is the nodal agency for the implementation in Kerala, along with TiE has hosted 'DDUGKY, Kudumbashree TiE Kerala Summit' at The Gateway Hotel, Kochi on 27 October 2018. Shri. Harikishore IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission spoke on the 'Scope of DDUGKY- Industry Convergence'. An open forum of Idea Sharing, Q&A Session and way forward was also followed by the presentation.

Delivering the keynote address, he stressed on the points of convergence between DDUGKY and the industry. The industry shall contribute by identifying the skill gap in various sectors, so that DDUGKY could train the students specifically in those sectors. Harikishore said.The industry may also take advantage of recruiting from among more than 35,000 well trained candidates and may also customize training to suit the needs of the organisation and place them in their organisation, thus ensuring captive placement for candidates and lessening the training cost of the organisation. Mr. Neelakantan G Nair, Senior Associate Member of TiE Kerala who spoke on the occasion stressed the need of continuous engagement between the industry and the flagship DDUGKY skilling programme, so that candidates and the industry would benefit.

Shri. T.P Geevargheese, District Mission Co-ordinator, c welcomed the gathering. Ms. Vijayam.K, Assistant District Mission Co-ordinator,District Mission Co-ordinator delivered vote of thanks.

Kudumbashree Women were proactively selling the Navakerala Lottery which was launched by the Directorate of Kerala Lotteries, Government of Kerala in an aim to collect additional fund towards the Chief Ministers Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) for flood rehabilitation activities and for Rebuilding Kerala. Kudumbashree Women had sold lottery tickets worth Rs 9.23 crore. As part of the lottery selling, 1054 CDS out of 1064 CDS had took up the casual agency. Through this 18,252 Kudumbashree women sold the Navakerala Lottery tickets across the state. More than 3.69 lakhs of lottery tickets were sold by the Kudumbashree members. In connection with this, Rangashree, the community theater group of Kudumbashree Mission had also performed street plays for the publicity of the sales of the Navakerala lotteries throughout the state. Kudumbashree Accounts and Audit Service Society (KAASS), Micro Enterprises Consultant (MEC) and other training groups had also took up the casual agency for selling Navakerala Lottery tickets and were active in selling the same.

The Government of Kerala launched the Navakerala lottery in a bid to collect additional funds towards the Chief Ministers Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF),the emergency assistance release mechanism granting immediate relief to families and individuals distressed by calamity, loss of life due to accidents and chronic diseases. Government of Kerala had entrusted Kudumbashree Mission as an agency to sell tickets to increase the sales of the Navakerala Lottery.
