Kudumbashree consecutively bags the National Award for successful Implementation of DDU-GKY Programme

Kudumbashree bagged the national award for the successful implementation of DDU-GKY programme in Kerala for the second time in a row. This time Kudumbashree bagged the award by being the second best state nodal agency for implementing DDUGKY programme during 2017-18.This is for the second time that Kudumbashree is bagging the award. Last year also Kudumbashree had received the award for being the third best state nodal agency implementing the programme in the state. 9196 out of the 10663 trained youth had secured job placements during 2017-18.

The Award including the certificate and momento will be given away at the programme which would be held at Ranchi, Jharkhand on 5 May 2018. The two stage process was employed by the Award committee for ranking the states based on their performances during last year. Score for achieving training target for the last financial year, score for achieving placement target for the last financial year, score for assessed against trained, score for certified against assessed, score for fund installments, score for training centre capacity utilization, score for inspections done, score for utilization of funds, score for engagement of Technical Support Agency, HR score, usage of MIS, score for timely commencement (PAC to MoU), score for timely commencement ( MoU to fund release),score for sanction ( EC approved against sanctioned), State's contribution to National Performance ( Training), State's contribution to National Performance ( Placement), Initiatives or Best Practices etc were the parameters considers for screening the applications etc were considered in the first stage and in the second stage, the presentation on the implementation of programme was done by the states. It was based on the scores attained by the states in two stages the awards were decided.

As of now, Kudumbashree SRLM has 52 PIAs and 83 projects in hand. Kudumbashree had devised various field level and policy level innovations for the successful implementation of the programme in the state. DDUGKY, the skill training and placement programme under the Ministry of Rural Development ( MoRD) occupies a unique position amongst the other skill training programmes due to its focus to the poor rural youth and its emphasis on sustainable employment through the prominence and incentives given to post placement tracking, retention and career progression. Kudumbashree SRLM plans to give skill training to 30,000 rural youth this year.

Kudumbashree's Attappady Skill Training Programme: 111 out of the 159 trained youth secured job placements

The Attappady Skill Training Programme being implemented at the tribal settlements of Attappady of Palakkad District make significant achievement.The job training of 159 tribal youth had been completed and out of them 111 students got job placements.

The tribal students from Attappady Tribal Settlement had been depending upon the training centres at Palakkad and other neighboring districts which had eventually lead to higher drop out, as the Attappady tribal youth didn’t prefer to stay away from their native place. As a solution to eliminate the dropouts, Kudumbashree Mission launched the training centre at Attappady, the only tribal intensive block in Kerala.

SB Global, the Project Implementing Agency of Kudumbashree Mission started their training centre in Attappady and offered courses such as Domestic Electrician, Welding and Plumbing. Handholding was done by the Kudumbashree SRLM by extending assistance to temporarily set up the training centre in a governmental building at Attappady. As training centre was opened in Attappady, the rural youth began showing interest towards the skill traing programme of DDU-GKY and the dropout rate was lowered. As of now, 111 out if the 159 trained youth had secured got job placements.

PMAY-LIFE Programme: Houses for all those who have land in urban areas of Kerala gets Central Sanction

The project for issuing Houses for all those who have land in urban areas of Kerala gets Central Sanction. The houses would be built under PMAY(U) as part of LIFE programme. As per this 82487 beneficiaries in the state would get the advantage of the programme. The programme is implemented by PMAY(U) - Pradhan Manthri Awas Yojana (Urban) Programme under Central- State Ministries working with the mission of achieving 'Housing for All'.

Central Sanction has been received for the project worth Rs 203 crore for building 5073 houses in 32 ULBs of Kerala as part of PMAY-LIFE Programme. The Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee held on 26 March 2018 gave approval for the same. Therefore those who have land in the 93 ULBs would get houses of their own. In total, approval for the houses of 82487 had been received. Construction of 2023 houses had been completed and construction of 23,891 houses are in progress.

Government had issued the order for increasing the financial support for building houses for the homeless who have land in urban areas to Rs 4 lakhs as per the unit rate of LIFE programme. As per this, those beneficiaries who had made the contract after 1 April 2017 in connection with the programme would also get the advantages. Out of the 4 lakhs rupees offered one and half lakh rupees will be met from the Central Government fund. The remaining Rs 50,000 would be met from the State Government and Rs 2 lakhs would be Local bodies fund. It is notable that the beneficiaries need not to pay the beneficiary share.

Kudumbashree Mission is the nodal agency of PMAY-LIFE programme in Kerala. The programme is framed, including the factors such as Colony development, credit linked subsidy, affordable housing scheme and personal Construction.

Medical Kits & Uniform distributed to Kudumbashree Santhwanam Units

Medical Kits and uniforms were distributed to the newly joined entrepreneurs of Santhwanam programme during the one day workshop organised at Maria Rani Convention Centre, Thiruvananthapuram on 20 April 2018. The Medical kit and uniforms were distributed by Shri. S. Harikishore, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission. Dr. Vijayakumar, Secretary, Health Action by People (HAP) presided over the function.

The uniform and Medical kit including BP apparatus, Cholesterol meter, body fat monitor, sugar meter etc were given away to 10 participants among the 60 women who had received training from Health Action by People (HAP). The Santhwanam team provide door to door diagnostic services to the needy patients who cannot regularly visit clinics of pathological laboratories. The services offered by the entrepreneurs include a one-time screening of individuals at their homes and follow up check-ups. The screening tests include measurements or estimation of height, body weight, body mass index, body fat, blood pressure, and blood glucose.

About 300 Santhwanam units are working across the state. Kudumbashree Mission. Training of 60 women had been completed. The bank loan to buy medical equipments and two wheelers will be issued to the interested entrepreneurs. Kudumbashree to give skill training to the coastal youth through Sagarmala programme

Kudumbashree Mission will give skill training to the coastal youth of the state through Kudumbashree- Sagarmala programme. The training would be extended through the centrally designed skill training programme, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) being implemented in the state through Kudumbashree Mission. The programme would be piloted among the coastal youth of Ernakulam and Kozhikode districts who would be the beneficiaries of the programme. Kudumbashree plans to give skill training to 3000 students in the coming 3 years. The convergence Project is a collaborative effort by Ministry of Shipping (MoS) and Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), which aims at skilling the coastal communities for wage employment in port and maritime sector. Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has assigned Kudumbashree Mission as the Nodal agency for the implementation of Sagarmala Project in Kerala.

The courses would be of 3 months to 1 year duration. In the first phase, skill training would be extended in the job sectors like, life guards, fish and sea food processing, deep sea fishing, crane operating, electric arc welding etc. By extending skill training and ensuring the placement through this programme, the life style of the rural youth would be improved. The empanelling process of the Project Implementing Agencies are progressing.Once the detailed analysis of the agencies would be over, the project report would be submitted for the approval of the committee. On getting the approval, the training programme would be started in 45 days time. The beneficiaries of the programme would be identified through District Mission Co-ordinators, Block Co-ordinators, Community Resource Persons, CDS, ADS members etc.

Kudumbashree's naattuchantha.com to give information on weekly markets

Kudumbashree Mission has launched the website www.naattuchantha.com to give away information on the weekly markets being organised by Kudumbashree CDS in all districts across the state. The website was launched on 1 April 2018 and it gives away the details including the district, the name of the CDS and the venue at which the weekly market is being held.The weekly market website is being updated by the Block Co-ordinators in the districts. The website also gives the information on sales report which include the number of Blocks, number of markets conducted, the quantity of the JLG products, quantity of the non JLG products and the total sales recorded during the weekly units. The photographs from different weekly markets organised across the state are uploaded in the website.

Mahila Kisan Sashakthikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), the sub component of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) aims at increasing the visibility of women in agriculture, reducing drudgery and providing a better livelihood opportunity by adopting sustainable and eco friendly agriculture. Kudumbashree, the programme implementing agency (PIA) for Kerala, has undertaken the project through the institution of Joint Liability Group (JLG) of women farmers. Presently Kudumbashree facilitates 60000 joint liability groups undertaking cultivation in 55000 hectors of land. Paddy, Banana, Tubers and vegetables are the major crops.

For ensuring better marketing opportunities and avoid middle man exploitation Kudumbashree started weekly markets across the state and the Mission has provided infrastructure facilities to 450 CDS.

Central sanction for projects worth 112.5 crore for Kudumbashree

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: കുടുംബശ്രീ മുഖേന നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന കേന്ദ്രാവിഷ്കൃത പദ്ധതിയായ ദേശീയ ഗ്രാമീണ ഉപജീവന ദൗത്യത്തില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തി വിവിധ പദ്ധതികള്‍ നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന് 112.5 കോടി രൂപയുടെ കേന്ദ്രാനുമതി ലഭിച്ചു. മുന്‍വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ കുടുംബശ്രീ നടപ്പാക്കിയ പദ്ധതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുടെ പുരോഗതിയും വ്യാപ്തിയും വിലയിരുത്തിയ ശേഷമാണ് 2018-19 സാമ്പത്തിക വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതികള്‍ക്കായി 112.5 കോടി രൂപ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇതില്‍ നാല്‍പത് ശതമാനം സംസ്ഥാന വിഹിതമാണ്.
ദാരിദ്ര്യ നിര്‍മ്മാര്‍ജ്ജനവും സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണവും ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് കുടുംബശ്രീ മുഖേന സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന വിവിധ തൊഴില്‍ദായക പദ്ധതികള്‍ക്കും സംഘടനാസംവിധാനം, മൈക്രോഫിനാന്‍സ് എന്നിവ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതുള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള പരിശീലന പരിപാടികള്‍ക്കും മറ്റ് നൂതന പദ്ധതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ആവശ്യമായ സാമ്പത്തിക പിന്തുണ ഉറപ്പാക്കാന്‍ ഫണ്ട് ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വഴി സാധിക്കും.

   ഇതു പ്രകാരം  അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ട വനിതകളായ സംരംഭകര്‍ക്ക് പരിശീലനങ്ങള്‍, ലഘു വായ്പകള്‍, അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ബാങ്ക് ലിങ്കേജിന്‍റെ പലിശ സബ്സിഡി എന്നിവ നല്‍കുന്നതിന് പദ്ധതി തുക വിനിയോഗിക്കാനാകും. ഇതോടൊപ്പം സാമ്പത്തിക സാക്ഷരതാ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താനും കഴിയും. കൂടാതെ സംഘകൃഷി ഗ്രൂപ്പ് അംഗങ്ങള്‍, കേരള ചിക്കന്‍ സംരംഭകര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ക്കുള്ള വായ്പകളും ആവശ്യാനുസരണം നല്‍കാന്‍ കഴിയും. കുടുംബശ്രീ ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങളുടെ വിപണനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍, ആദിവാസി മേഖലയിലെ സാമൂഹിക വികസനം സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണം എന്നിവയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പരിപാടികള്‍, സിഡിഎസ് ചെയര്‍പേഴ്സണ്‍മാര്‍, പഞ്ചായത്ത് څഭാരവാഹികള്‍, കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി റിസോഴ്സ് പേഴ്സണ്‍മാര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ക്കുള്ള പരിശീലനം തുടങ്ങിയ പരിപാടികളും പദ്ധതി തുക ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നിര്‍വഹിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയും.

   ഉപജീവന വികസനം ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട്  കുടുംബശ്രീ മുഖേന സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 172 തൊഴില്‍ പരിശീലന ഏജന്‍സികളെ എംപാനല്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി 2016-17ല്‍ 5100 ഓളം പേര്‍ക്ക് തൊഴില്‍ പരിശീലനവും ലഭ്യമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതുവഴി നിരവധി അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ട വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞവര്‍ഷം മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട തൊഴിലും വരുമാനവും ലഭ്യമാക്കാന്‍ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ വര്‍ഷം ഇതുവരെ 8352 അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പലിശ സബ്സിഡി ഇനത്തില്‍ 1.33 കോടി രൂപ നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു. ഈ വര്‍ഷം ഏഴു കോടി രൂപ നല്‍കാനാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. കൂടാതെ റിവോള്‍വിങ് ഫണ്ട് ഇനത്തില്‍ 15 കോടി രൂപ നല്‍കുന്നതിനായി 10000 അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ തുകയും ഉടന്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്യും. കുടുംബശ്രീ സംഘടനാ സംവിധാനം ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടതലത്തില്‍ കുടുംബശ്രീ സ്കൂള്‍ പദ്ധതിയും നടപ്പാക്കിയിരുന്നു. സംരംഭങ്ങളെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് കുറഞ്ഞ പലിശ നിരക്കില്‍ വായ്പ ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതിന് സി.ഡി.എസുകള്‍ക്ക് ഇരുപതു കോടി രൂപ വിതരണം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.

   സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 1012 ഓളം സംരംഭകര്‍ക്ക് ഇതിന്‍റെ പ്രയോജനം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.     സാമൂഹ്യ വികസനം ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന്‍റെ څഭാഗമായി ആദിവാസി മേഖലയില്‍ സമഗ്രമായ ഇടപെടലുകള്‍ നടത്താനാണ് കുടുംബശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. ഇതിന്‍റെ څഭാഗമായി രൂപീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അട്ടപ്പാടി പ്രത്യേക പദ്ധതി വഴി ആദിവാസികളുടെ സാമൂഹ്യവും സാമ്പത്തികവുമായ ജീവിതം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള വിവിധ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ആവിഷ്ക്കരിച്ച് നടപ്പാക്കി വരികയാണ്. ഇപ്പോള്‍ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള തുക ഉപയോഗിച്ച്   അട്ടപ്പാടിയിലെ പഞ്ചായത്ത് ബ്ലോക്ക് സമിതികള്‍ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അതോടൊപ്പം ആരോഗ്യം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം തുടങ്ങിയ മേഖലകളില്‍ മികവിന്‍റെ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനുമാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. കൂടാതെ പദ്ധതി തുക ലഭിക്കുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് നിലവില്‍ തിരുനെല്ലി, ആറളം ഫാം, നിലമ്പൂര്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ അട്ടപ്പാടി മാതൃകയില്‍ നടപ്പാക്കി വരുന്ന പദ്ധതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ഊര്‍ജിതപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനും വിപുലീകരിക്കുന്നതിനും കഴിയും.

Kudumbashree Saras Mela 2018 concluded making record sales of Rs 7 Crores

Organised by Kudumbashree Mission, the national food and cultural expo, 'Saras Mela 2018' , offering the best of traditional food and artistry, concluded carving out yet another era in the history by drawing record sales and massive crowds. A total sale of more than Rs 7 crores was recorded from the stalls and food courts of the 10 day long Mela conducted at the ground near Market, Pattambi, Palakkad from 29 March 2018 to 8 April 2018.

Regarding the sales at the Food Court, a total sale of Rs 51,60,870 was recorded. Goa bagged the award for the best food court among the partner states. Chaithanya Cafe of Attappady and Punarjanmam Juice World won the Award for the Outstanding Performance. Alif Cafe of Kozhikode was selected as the Best Kerala Food Court. Muthuthala Panchayath, Ongaloor Panchayath and Pattambi Municipality won the awards for the best processions. Shri. P.K Sumesh of Deshabhimani Daily bagged the award for the Best Reporting ( Print Media). Shri. Mohan Charaparambil of Madhyamam Daily won the second prize for the same. ACV, PCV and STV bagged the awards for the Best Covering of Saras Mela 2018 in Visual Media. Smt. K.P Shailaja bagged the First Prize at the Essay Writing Competition organised in connection with Saras Mela 2018.

Micro entrepreneurs from 25 states across the country including Kerala had became the part of the programme. Around 250 stalls were opened, out of which 100 stalls were of other states. The 70,000 sqft big pavilion and food court was the main attraction of the Mela. Saras Mela 2018 became a huge success because of the active participation of the people and organised work of the organising team. 22 food stalls were opened at the food court offering the people of Pattambi, a special chance to taste the wide range of cuisines from different parts across the country. Out of the food stalls, 13 were from Kerala and 9 were from other states. The cultural programmes arranged daily at the Mela indeed became a visual treat for those who gathered at the Saras Mela. Artists and celebrities also took part in the programme adding more fame to the event.

The programme strictly followed green protocol. Therefore, the 'eco-friendly' Mela held at Pattambi is attracted more and more people and added more colour to the festive days of Kerala. Saras Mela 2017 was kickstarted when Dr. K.T Jaleel, Minister, Local Self Government Department, Government of Kerala officially inaugurated the programme.

It is for the third time that Kudumbashree Mission is organising Saras Mela. Last year, Saras Mela was conducted at Safari Maidan, Malappuram which recorded a sale of Rs. 6.54 Crores. The first saras Mela was was conducted at Ashramam Ground, Kollam which made a sale of Rs.4.6 Crore. The Saras Mela 2018 was indeed a celebration of food, art and culture in this festive season and was wholeheartedly received by the neighbouring districts as well which resulted in the grand success of the programme.

Shri M.B Rajesh, MP inaugurated the Valedictory function. Shri. Muhammed Muhsin, MLA presided over the function. Shri. T.R Ajayan, Social Activist and Smt. Sahira Kuttipuram, Poet were felicitated during the programme. Dr. Khadeeja Mumthaz, Writer and Shri. P. Raman were also present at the function. Dance-Drama programmes were also presented at the function. Shri. P. Saidalavi, District Mission Co-ordinator, Palakkad welcomed the gathering and Shri. M. Dinesh, Assistant District Mission Co-ordinator, Palakkad extended Vote of Thanks.

Kudumbashree Balasabha formation started at SOS Childrens Village

The Kudumbashree District Mission of Ernakulam launched new Balasabha at SOS Children's Village. The Balasabha is started as part of the formation of Balasabhas focusing on child care institutions. The first of its kind is started at the Youth Home of SOS Childrens Village at Edathala Panchayath, Ernakulam. Balasabha of 20 children of 12-18 years of age was formed at the SOS Childrens Home. Master John Pradeep and Master Tony Thomas were selected as the President and Secretary of the Balasabha. The move aims to ensure the participation of such students in the democratic space. The objective of the initiative is to improve the academic and extra curricular skills of the children at the Youth Home of SOS Children's Village.

SOS Children's Villages International comprises 118 national SOS Children's Villages associations. and each SOS Children's Villages association is committed to apply the federation's statutes, standards for quality child care, and stringent financial and administrative practices. The SOS Children's Village in Alwaye, Cochin was launched in 1990. In addition to advocating for the rights of children, SOS Childrens village support families so that they can generate an income and stay together, and we provide family-based care for children who have lost the care of their parents. Balasabha envisage for the overall development of children through addressing their social and emotional needs and enhancing their creativity and leadership skills. At present, there are 32,878 Balasabhas, covering 4,30,908 children, across the state.

Saras Mela 2018, the national food and cultural expo organised by Kudumbashree Mission, offering the best of traditional food and artistry is carving out yet another era in the history by captivating huge crowds. Saras Mela 2018 was kick started when Dr. K.T Jaleel, Minister, Local Self Government Department, Government of Kerala officially inaugurated the programme at the ground near Market, Pattambi, Palakkad on 29 March 2018. A sale of Rs 3.95 crore had been recorded so far, out of which Rs 3.63 crore is from the sales stalls and Rs. 30.8 lakhs from the food stalls.
