Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission organizes Cookery Competition for Differently Abled

Under the leadership of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission, a cooking competition was organized for the differently abled including the beneficiaries of BUDS Institutions at Raiban Auditorium, Alappuzha on 12 September 2023. This is the first time that such a competition is being organized for the differently abled in the state. 13 differently-abled persons and their family members participated in the cooking competition organized in four rounds namely 'Karumure' (various snacks), Chill Time (cool drinks), 'Iratti Madhuram' (Payasam) and 'Health Mukhyam Bigile' (Various Salads).
 
Ms. Haritha V Kumar, District Collector, Alappuzha inaugurated the competition and also distributed the prizes to the winners. Shri. A.M. Arif, MP, Ms. K.G. Rajeshwari. President, District Panchayath visited the cooking competition in person and tasted various dishes. The officials of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission gave leadership to the cooking competition.

Members of Bala Gothra Sabha of Attappady become part of Sajjam Programme

Members of Bala Gothra Sabha of Attappady also become part of the 'Sajjam' Building Resilience Project which empowers Kudumbashree Balasabha members between the ages of 12 & 17 to understand and deal with natural calamities. The first phase training was held during 9-10 September 2023 under the leadership of the Kudumbashree Attappady Tribal Comprehensive Development Project. 80 Bala Gothra Sabha Members from Agali, Sholayur Panchayaths were given the first phase training. Resource Persons who have completed training at the State Level are spearheading the Sajjam Training at Attappady.
 
Ms. Saraswathi Muthu Kumar, President, Kudumbashree Agali Panchayath Samithi inaugurated the Agali Panchayath Level Training Programme held at Agali Camp Centre and Ms. Saleena Shanmugan, President, Kudumbashree Sholayur Panchayath Samithi inaugurated the Sholayur Panchayath Level Training Programme held at Bhuthivazhi Moopans Training Centre. 
 
Children were given awareness on topics such as nature, environment, disaster impact mitigation, rights and responsibilities. This provided an opportunity for the children to learn about various natural disasters such as floods, landslides, droughts, landslides, sea storms and understand the current disaster management systems. The training was organized through various activities so that the children could understand themselves, including how climate change affects the children's lives. Leadership training and yoga training were also provided.
 
In the upcoming months, Sajjam Training will be conducted focusing on the Pre-Metric Hostels in Puthur Panchayat and  Attappady. Ms. Resi, Secretary, Agali Panchayath Samiti, Ms. Priya, Ms. Shyni, Panchayath Samithi Coordinators, Panchayath Samithi Members Priya, Shri. Sudheesh, Kudumbashree Young Professional, Shri. Jomon K.J, Project Coordinator, Animators and Bridge Course Teachers participated in the inauguration ceremony.

Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission organizes District Level Foot Ball Competition for Balasabha member

Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission organized District Level Foot Ball Competition for Balasabha members in the district.  T V Puram won the Foot Ball Tournament. The Tournament was organized to discover the talents of Balasabha Children in Foot Ball. T V Puram defeated the Pala CDS team by two goals to none in the final match held at the Municipal Stadium, Pala on 3 September 2023. Ettumanoor CDS team came third in the tournament. 
 
The Preliminary Round Competitions were conducted after dividing the 78 CDS in the district into 4 clusters. The top two teams in each of these cluster matches qualified for the District-Level Final Round Tournament. From the District Level Competition including 8 teams, T V Puram, Pala, Ettumanoor and Ramapuram teams reached the Semi-Finals. Ettumanoor won the Losers Final between Ettumanoor and Ramapuram teams who lost in the Semi Finals. Siddharth R Nair of Pala was selected as the Best Player and Aromal of T V Puram was selected as the Best Goalie. Trophies and Medals were presented to the winners. Ms. Josin Bino, Chairperson, Pala Municipality and Shri. A.J Thomas, DYSP, Pala distributed the prizes to the winners.
 
During the function, Shri. Narasimha Kumar, Regional Head-Kottayam, Union Bank of India performed the Inauguration of Savings Bank Account Campaign for Balasabha Children. Ms. Sreekala Anil Kumar, Chairperson, Pala CDS, Shri. Abhilash Divakar, District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission, Shri. Prakash B Nair, Shri. Mohammad Harris, Assistant District Mission Coordinators, Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission, Shri. Arun P. Thozhilarangathekk 2.0' begins

The second phase of 'Thozhilarangathekk' Project, which is being implemented by the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission in collaboration with Kudumbashree with the aim of providing opportunities for educated women in the field of knowledge-based careers has started. The first phase of the project was successfully completed in March 2023. Kudumbashree will coordinate field level activities of the 'Thozhilarangathekk 2.0 Project, focusing on 399 LSGIs registered with interest in the second phase of the project. Ms. Veena George, Minister for Health and Woman and Child Development, Government of Kerala inaugurated the second phase at a ceremony held at the Science and Technology Museum, Thiruvananthapuram on 4 September 2023.

Job readiness support will be provided through the Knowledge Economy Mission System to all those registered as part of the scheme via the DWMS (Digital Work Force Management System) of the Knowledge Economy Mission. The services provided by the mission include Skill Training, Career Counselling, Personality Development Training, English Score Test and Robotic Interview.
 
The beneficiaries of the scheme are female job seekers aged between 18 to 59 years with plus two as their basic qualification. The scheme is implemented by dividing the job seekers into different groups based on their educational qualification and forming Knowledge Job Units. Further activities will be undertaken by activating Knowledge Job Units including those formed in the first phase. Currently, 2,77,850 women job seekers from 14 districts have registered under the scheme. The second phase of the project will be completed before 31 March 2024. Training and job fairs will be organized in all 399 local self-government bodies.

'Onashree' Village Fest of Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission makes a sale of Rs 1 crore

The 'Onashree' Village Fest organized in 9 CDSs of Taliparamba Constituency under the auspices of Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission was a huge hit. The 'Onashree' Product Marketing Fair and Cultural Festival organized in 7 Grama Panchayats and 2 Municipalities of the Constituency from 20 August 2023 was a unique experience.
 
A turnover of Rs 1 crore was achieved from the 8 to15 day long village festival. About Rs 10 lakhs was received from the Food Court. The Village Fest was the brain child of Shri. M.V. Govindan Master, the MLA of the Constituency. Through this Village Fest during Onam, 350 Kudumbashree women entrepreneurs of this place have got a great opportunity for product marketingFolk Art Forms of the respective regions were also staged as part of the Cultural Festival. The Cultural Festival with the local artists from children to the elderly also gave a unique experience to everyone.

Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission launches 'Kudumbashree School of Drives'

Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission launched Kudumbashree School of Drives' which offer cycling for tourists visiting Athirappally and Vazhachal, major tourist destinations. Through the 'Cycle of Drives' the cycle tourism project, Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission is arranging an opportunity for the tourists to enjoy the beauty of the forest by linking these two centres. The project is implemented in convergence with the Athirappally Panchayath.
 
This project is carried out as part of the Special Scheduled Tribes Project implemented by Kudumbashree with the aim of sustainable development. The project envisages to find a way of livelihood for the Kadar section of the PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) of the panchayath. The 'Cycle of Drives' project also aims at minimizing the environmental pollution caused by the travel of tourist vehicles through the forest and thereby achieve the goal of 'Carbon Neutral Athirappally'.
 
The bicycle rental facility is available at the District Tourism Promotion Council counter leading to Athirappally Falls. Cycles are available from 9 AM to 5 PM. Public can use the cycle for Rs 100 for the first one hour and Rs 30 for the subsequent half hour. Helmets will also be provided for safety.
 
The project was inaugurated by Shri. Sanish Kumar Joseph, MLA, Chalakudy Constituency on 23 August 2023. Adv. Athira Devarajan, President, Athirappally Gram Panchayath presided over the function. Ms. Saumini Manilal, Panchayat Vice President, Shri. K. K Rijesh, Chairman, Health Education Standing Committee, Shri. Jayachandran, Ward Member, Dr. A. Mazha Polima Programme of Kasaragod progressing

Mazha Polima, an agricultural revitalization programme implemented by Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission, is progressing. From children to adults, people go to the fields, plant the seedlings, sing and dance and is making Mazha Polima a festival of the country. Various events including art and sports competitions and food fair are being organized as part of the fair.
 
With the slogan 'Cheranu Chor', Mazha Polima has been organized by Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission with the objectives of making barren land cultivable, ensuring food security, attracting people including the young generation to agriculture, and reviving the agricultural culture of the district.
 
The Mazha Polima Campaign, which has been organized in the district for the last five years, is being organized in a more extensive manner from this year. Apart from CDS level, the campaign is also organized in ADS level. As part of the campaign which started on 5 July 2023, Mazha Polima has been organized in 31 out of the total 42 CDSs in the district so far. 6 ADSs also carried out Mazha Polima.
 
Last year, 646.3 acres of barren land were cultivated through Kudumbashree JLG groups as part of Mazha Polima and 20.8 tons of rice was brought to the market under the Arishree brand.

Job Fairs as part of Micro Plan Activities completed

The job fairs as part of the micro plan activities jointly implemented by the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission and Kudumbashree have been completed in the four local self-governing areas. Micro Plan activities were carried out in Bison Valley in Idukki district, Sultan Batheri in Wayanad district, Perumbadappu in Malappuram district and Kollam Corporation in Kollam district.
 
1800 job seekers and 163 employers participated in the job fairs organized in these four regions on 8th, 9th and 15th July 2023. 536 people were selected. As part of the Micro Plan activities, intensive campaign programmes to provide knowledge jobs to the educated job seekers registered on the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) platform in these areas were carried out.
 
The micro plans are being prepared and operated as per the requirement of the local self-governing bodies to the Knowledge Economy Mission to provide knowledge jobs to the educated unemployed. The first event in the micro-plan calendar is the formation of an organizing committee comprising of officials from various departments, people's representatives and representatives from skilling/employment agencies.
 
Then there are about 11 activities including meeting of job seekers at local level, knowledge job explanation, training and interviews for community ambassadors, work readiness programme and job training. Job fairs are organized last. In the future, it is aimed to implement micro plans focusing on more local bodies.

Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission arranges livelihood opportunity for 10 tribal families in Parambikulam

Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission arranges livelihood opportunity for 10 tribal families in Parambikulam. The initiatives were jointly inaugurated by Shri. B.S Manoj, Programme Officer, Kudumbashree and Shri. K.K Chandradasan, District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission during a function organized on 22 July 2023.
 
Under Kudumbashree's Scheduled Caste Sustainable Development Project, two mini flour mill units named Minishree and Jayashree have been started under the leadership of Kudumbashree in the fifth colony of Parambikulam ward to promote livelihood activities. Minishree Curry Powder Unit will be run by Ms. Shanti, Ms. Nanji, Ms. Shelvi, Ms. Rugmini and Ms. Kaveri, members of Snehashree NHG and Jayashree Curry Powder Unit will be run by Ms. Madhavi, Ms. Jaya, Ms. Alli, Ms. Pacha and Ms. Rathi, members of Sreehari NHG of Muthalamada CDS. Kudumbashree has provided financial assistance of Rs. 60,000 each to start the mills.
 
 A social security insurance campaign was also started in the villages. Ms. Selvi, Ward Member, Ms. Komalam, Chairperson, Muthalamada CDS, Ms. Mallika. R, CDS Member, Shri. Muthu Swami, Head of the Hamlet, Shri. Jijin. G, Ms. Sabitha. C, Ms. Lakshmi. R, Ms. Priyanka. K,  Shri. Naushad, District Programme Managers, Shri. Jomon K.J, SD Coordinator, Ms. Rajitha, Micro Enterprise Consultant, Shri. Veluchami, Ms. Aishwarya, Shri. Satheesh, Animators also participated in the function. 
 
 Parambikulam Reserve Forest is more than 80 km away from Palakkad town, which can be reached only after traveling through Tamil Nadu from Kerala and again through Kerala. Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission is being a relief to the tribal groups of Malamalasar who live in this Parambikulam Reserve Forest, which is located at an altitude of more than 800 meters above sea level.

'Karkkidaka Chantha' of Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission gains attention

The 'Karkkidaka Chantha' set up by Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission at Thirunelly gained attention. Dr Renu Raj IAS, District Collector, Wayanad inaugurated the programme on 17 July 2023. The 'Karkkidaka Chantha' was set up in connection with the Karkkidaka Vav (Hindu ritual performed for the deceased ancestors) at the premises of Thirunelly temple. Various types of leafy vegetables, vegetables, Wayanad's unique rice Gandakashala, Mullan Kaima, Chomala, Veliyan Thondi etc along with dosa made from these rice, Puttu flour and products made from mani grass were made available at the 'Karkkidaka Chantha'. 
 
'Karkkidaka Chantha' was organized as part of the Kudumbashree Wayanad Tribal Comprehensive Development Project in association with Thirunelly Kudumbashree CDS, Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Thirunelly and Rebuild Kerala Initiative - Entrepreneurship Development Programme (RKI - EDP). 66 Kudumbashree entrepreneurial units participated in the market organized in the temple premises on 16, 17 and 18 July 2023.
