Panchayat Kudumbashree Convergence- Arimbur Panchayath sets a model

Arimbur Grama Panchayath of Thrissur district is an example of local self-government bodies that support Kudumbashree activities in every way. After renovating the Kudumbashree CDS office at a cost of Rs 11 lakhs, Arimbur Panchayat has now prepared a women's canteen and toilet block for the Kudumbashree members. Mr. K. Rajan, Minister for Revenue and Housing, Government of Kerala inaugurated the women's canteen and toilet block on 8 October 2023.
 
The panchayath has spent Rs 27 lakhs for the renovation of the women's canteen. The canteen has a seating capacity of 70 people and modern kitchen equipments has been purchased for the canteen. The canteen will function as a Janakeeya Hotel. The canteen will be run by the 'Vanitha' Kudumbashree Micro Enterprise unit. The members of this unit are Ms. Suma Joseph, Ms. Viji and Ms. Siji.
 
Shri. K. K Sasidharan, President, Anthikad Block Panchayath presided over the function. Ms. Smitha Ajayakumar, President, Arimbur Grama Panchayath  welcomed the gathering. Dr. Kavitha, District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission, People's Representatives of Arimbur, Thannyam and Manalur Grama Panchayat participated in the programme. Ms. Reni Paul, Secretary,  Arimbur Panchayath Secretary delivered the vote of thanks.

Comprehensive services for survivors: India will adopt Snehitha's working model tomorrow- Minister Shri. M.B Rajesh

Shri. M.B Rajesh, Minister, Local Self Government Department and Excise Department, Government of Kerala said that India will adopt Snehitha's working model tomorrow which extends comprehensive services for survivors. He was speaking at the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of Snehitha in Thiruvananthapuram district and inaugurating 'Callow Support Centre', an adolescent personality development support system and 'For You Mom' support cell for postpartum depression-awareness and support.
 
The minister said that Snehitha is implementing various activities across the state for gender equality and family democratization. The comprehensive services provided to women and children by Snehitha over the past decade is unparalleled. The Minister also said that the 'Callow Support Centre' and 'For You Mom' projects, which will be started in the district as part of the expansion of women's empowerment activities, will be taken over by India tomorrow.
 
The Minister also distributed the awards instituted by Vithura Grama Panchayat to educational institutions and individuals who have excelled in various fields.  Adv. G. Stephen, MLA, Aruvikkara constituency presided over the function. Shri. Jafar Malik IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree released the logo of 'Callow Support Centre'. Ms. Indulekha, President, Vellanadu Block Panchayath released the logo of 'For You Mom' Support Centre.

Callow Support Centre
'Callow Support Centre is an Adolescent Education Programme that helps children through their teenage years when they are faced with psychological problems and crises. It will be very helpful in personality development and character formation of teenagers. This scheme will provide proper orientation and create awareness about the harmful effects of drug use.
 
For You mom
The 'For You Mom' project is designed and implemented to raise awareness about post partum depression, psychological conflicts, biological changes and provides support to women in the complex situations they face. The activities related to the project are centered in the district office of Snehitha

Kudumbashree conducts Digital literacy Awareness Campaign among NHG members through Balasabha members

Kudumbashree conducted Digital literacy Awareness Campaign among NHG members through Balasabha members across the state on 8 October 2023. It is as part of 'Back to School' Campaign, the organizational empowerment programme of Kudumbashree, Balasabha members conducted digital literacy awareness for NHG members who came to school. Balasabha members organized various awareness programmes across the state as part of the Digi Keralam project organized by the Government of Kerala, which aims to make Kerala the first fully digital literacy state in the country.

These include special awareness programmes focused on schools that conduct classes for NHG members as part of the 'Back to School' Campaign. As part of the 'Back to School' Campaign, lakhs of NHGs members came to around 2000 schools in the state. A massive campaign to empower Kudumbashree members is ongoing where 46 lakh NHG members come together for 21 holidays between 1 October 2023 and 10 December 2023. Lakhs of Kudumbashree members were part of the campaign on 1 & 2 October 2023 alone.  

The campaign of Balasabha members organized targeting them has created a great platform for awareness about digital literacy. Balasabha, the fraternity of children between the ages of 5 and 18, has 4,59,151 members in 31,612 Balasabha units in the state. All Balasabhas in the state participated in the programme. Apart from this, Balasabha members conducted home visits and pamphlet distribution at the ward level under the leadership of a Kudumbashree ADS (Area Development Society) member.

The Digi Keralam campaign aims to create a digitally inclusive society by providing basic digital literacy to all sections of the society. The project envisages to effectively extend the benefits of information technology to all, ensure their empowerment, make government services easily accessible to the deserving and participate in development projects. The Balasabha members' campaign is the first step in a wider range of activities to educate all Kudumbashree members to achieve digital literacy as part of the Digi Keralam project.

Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram District Mission's 'Ithal' Product Fair a hit among techies

Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram District Mission's 'Ithal' Product Fair was a big hit among the techies. The 'Ithal Trade Fair', which provided a marketing opportunity for the products including notebooks, pens and file folders prepared by the beneficiaries and their parents of BUDS Institutions under the Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram District Mission, was well received by the techies. A total turnover of Rs.8100 was generated through the fest organized at Tata Elxsi in Kinfra Park. 
 
Products from 14 BUDS Institutions were brought for sale at the fair. The techies wholeheartedly support this cause by purchasing these products from the Ithal brand. The products prepared by the differently abled and parents of BUDS Institutions in the district were launched under the 'Ithal' brand from 2022 onwards.

Kudumbashree makes cricket fans happy with food despite the rain at Greenfield Stadium

Kudumbashree made the cricket fans happy with the food, despite the rain that became the villain in all the warm-up matches at the Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram for the One Day World Cup Cricket Tournament hosted by India. During the cricket warm-up matches organized at the Greenfield Stadium, five Kudumbashree units prepared food for the spectators and earned an income of Rs.1,95,210. 
 
Under the leadership of Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram District Mission, Kudumbashree units namely Prathyasha, Sreeshailam, Samjees, Cafe Shree and Shruti prepared food for the spectators. Rs 23,000 was recorded from the New Zealand- South Africa Match and Rs 1,72,210 was recorded from the India-Netherland Match which was abandoned due to rain.

Samagra- Special Employment Scheme for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) launched

Samagra- Special Employment Scheme organized by Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission for Person With Disabilities was launched. Dr R. Bindu,  Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice, Government of Kerala officially inaugurated the scheme during the function held at Govt. Women's Polytechnic College, Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram on 15 September 2023.
 
Samagra is the project implemented by the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice with the aim of ensuring the participation of the disabled community in the field of knowledge work. The objective of the project is to provide employment through skill training by examining the upliftment of the disabled community and the consideration of employment opportunities.
 
The services provided by the mission include skill training, career counselling, personality development training, English score test and robotic interview. Job seekers who register on the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) website and complete training provided by the Mission are assured employment through special job fairs.
 
Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission seeks to find those who are interested in academic careers and have an educational qualification of Plus Two or above and provide them with employment opportunities suitable to their aptitude, interest and qualifications. Kudumbashree Mission implements the project at the field level. Employment is ensured for those job seekers who complete the training extended by the mission after registering in Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS).

A special job fair organized for differently-abled candidates in conjunction with the inauguration saw 98 candidates participate in interviews and 65 shortlisted candidates.

Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission organizes Cookery Competition for Differently Abled

Under the leadership of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission, a cooking competition was organized for the differently abled including the beneficiaries of BUDS Institutions at Raiban Auditorium, Alappuzha on 12 September 2023. This is the first time that such a competition is being organized for the differently abled in the state. 13 differently-abled persons and their family members participated in the cooking competition organized in four rounds namely 'Karumure' (various snacks), Chill Time (cool drinks), 'Iratti Madhuram' (Payasam) and 'Health Mukhyam Bigile' (Various Salads).
 
Ms. Haritha V Kumar, District Collector, Alappuzha inaugurated the competition and also distributed the prizes to the winners. Shri. A.M. Arif, MP, Ms. K.G. Rajeshwari. President, District Panchayath visited the cooking competition in person and tasted various dishes. The officials of Kudumbashree Alappuzha District Mission gave leadership to the cooking competition.

Members of Bala Gothra Sabha of Attappady become part of Sajjam Programme

Members of Bala Gothra Sabha of Attappady also become part of the 'Sajjam' Building Resilience Project which empowers Kudumbashree Balasabha members between the ages of 12 & 17 to understand and deal with natural calamities. The first phase training was held during 9-10 September 2023 under the leadership of the Kudumbashree Attappady Tribal Comprehensive Development Project. 80 Bala Gothra Sabha Members from Agali, Sholayur Panchayaths were given the first phase training. Resource Persons who have completed training at the State Level are spearheading the Sajjam Training at Attappady.
 
Ms. Saraswathi Muthu Kumar, President, Kudumbashree Agali Panchayath Samithi inaugurated the Agali Panchayath Level Training Programme held at Agali Camp Centre and Ms. Saleena Shanmugan, President, Kudumbashree Sholayur Panchayath Samithi inaugurated the Sholayur Panchayath Level Training Programme held at Bhuthivazhi Moopans Training Centre. 
 
Children were given awareness on topics such as nature, environment, disaster impact mitigation, rights and responsibilities. This provided an opportunity for the children to learn about various natural disasters such as floods, landslides, droughts, landslides, sea storms and understand the current disaster management systems. The training was organized through various activities so that the children could understand themselves, including how climate change affects the children's lives. Leadership training and yoga training were also provided.
 
In the upcoming months, Sajjam Training will be conducted focusing on the Pre-Metric Hostels in Puthur Panchayat and  Attappady. Ms. Resi, Secretary, Agali Panchayath Samiti, Ms. Priya, Ms. Shyni, Panchayath Samithi Coordinators, Panchayath Samithi Members Priya, Shri. Sudheesh, Kudumbashree Young Professional, Shri. Jomon K.J, Project Coordinator, Animators and Bridge Course Teachers participated in the inauguration ceremony.

Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission organizes District Level Foot Ball Competition for Balasabha member

Kudumbashree Kottayam District Mission organized District Level Foot Ball Competition for Balasabha members in the district.  T V Puram won the Foot Ball Tournament. The Tournament was organized to discover the talents of Balasabha Children in Foot Ball. T V Puram defeated the Pala CDS team by two goals to none in the final match held at the Municipal Stadium, Pala on 3 September 2023. Ettumanoor CDS team came third in the tournament. 
 
The Preliminary Round Competitions were conducted after dividing the 78 CDS in the district into 4 clusters. The top two teams in each of these cluster matches qualified for the District-Level Final Round Tournament. From the District Level Competition including 8 teams, T V Puram, Pala, Ettumanoor and Ramapuram teams reached the Semi-Finals. Ettumanoor won the Losers Final between Ettumanoor and Ramapuram teams who lost in the Semi Finals. Siddharth R Nair of Pala was selected as the Best Player and Aromal of T V Puram was selected as the Best Goalie. Trophies and Medals were presented to the winners. Ms. Josin Bino, Chairperson, Pala Municipality and Shri. A.J Thomas, DYSP, Pala distributed the prizes to the winners.
 
During the function, Shri. Narasimha Kumar, Regional Head-Kottayam, Union Bank of India performed the Inauguration of Savings Bank Account Campaign for Balasabha Children. Thozhilarangathekk 2.0' begins

The second phase of 'Thozhilarangathekk' Project, which is being implemented by the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission in collaboration with Kudumbashree with the aim of providing opportunities for educated women in the field of knowledge-based careers has started. The first phase of the project was successfully completed in March 2023. Kudumbashree will coordinate field level activities of the 'Thozhilarangathekk 2.0 Project, focusing on 399 LSGIs registered with interest in the second phase of the project. Ms. Veena George, Minister for Health and Woman and Child Development, Government of Kerala inaugurated the second phase at a ceremony held at the Science and Technology Museum, Thiruvananthapuram on 4 September 2023.
Shri. V.K. Prasanth, MLA presided over the function.
Job readiness support will be provided through the Knowledge Economy Mission System to all those registered as part of the scheme via the DWMS (Digital Work Force Management System) of the Knowledge Economy Mission. The services provided by the mission include Skill Training, Career Counselling, Personality Development Training, English Score Test and Robotic Interview.
 
The beneficiaries of the scheme are female job seekers aged between 18 to 59 years with plus two as their basic qualification. The scheme is implemented by dividing the job seekers into different groups based on their educational qualification and forming Knowledge Job Units. Further activities will be undertaken by activating Knowledge Job Units including those formed in the first phase. Currently, 2,77,850 women job seekers from 14 districts have registered under the scheme. The second phase of the project will be completed before 31 March 2024. Training and job fairs will be organized in all 399 local self-government bodies.
