Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission to train women in climbing coconut trees

Posted on Saturday, May 18, 2019

A  two day coconut climbing training session has  been conducted by Malapattam Kudumbashree CDS in connection with Gender Self Learning Programme on 14 and 15 May 2019. Next time when you need someone to pluck coconuts, worry not, very soon women trained in coconut climbing would be just a phone call away. Smt. Nalini,  a Kudumbashree  woman who broke the taboo of coconut climbing which was meant only for men is all set to inspire women and to train more Kudumbasree women. In the first phase  Malapattam CDS is planning to give training to 12 Kudumbashree women.

They also aim to launch a registered micro enterprise by including these trained members, in which 100 kudumbashree green army activists will get a staunch training session under the guidance of 12 adept coconut climbing trainers. Once the green army activists would be trained, they would revolutionize the existing scenario and would scale up to new heights.
