Kudumbashree to receive Ramoji Film City's CSR fund for constructing 116 houses in Alappuzha

Kudumbashree will receive Ramoji Film City's CSR fund for constructing 116 houses in Alappuzha. The agreement regarding the same would be signed at the function proposed to be held at Camelot Convention Centre, Pathirappally, Alappuzha on 1 March 2019. Ramoji film city, the world’s largest integrated film city and India's only thematic holiday destination had offered Rs 7 crores for building houses for the people in the flood hit areas of Alappuzha.  It is as per the request of Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Government of Kerala that Ramoji Film City came forward with the CSR fund for constructing the houses in Alappuzha.

As per the agreement, a total of 116 houses would be built in the district. It is planned to finish the construction of houses within 6 months. Construction of each house would cost around Rs 6 lakhs. Kudumbashree had identified the beneficiaries  and forwarded the list to the CSR committee of Ramoji Film City. Kudumbashree women construction groups will undertake the construction works of 116 houses. The construction of the houses would be started by the first week of March itself. The project would be implemented in three phases and the construction of 35 houses would be completed in the first phase. 40 and 41 houses would be built in the second and third phase respectively. Kudumbashree Misison had formed 'Nirmashree', a labour contracting society, joining 55 Kudumbashree women construction groups which has more than 250 members. The Nirmashree Labour Contracting Society will undertake the construction of the 116 houses which is proposed to be built in the district.

Destitute Free Kerala: State Level inauguration held

The state level inauguration of Kudumbashree Mission’s ambitious project ‘Destitute-free Kerala’ that aims to protect the destitute population of the state  was held at Kalpetta, Wayand on 21 Febrauary 2019. Shri. A.C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Governments, Government of Kerala inaugurated the project at Kalpetta in Wayanad. Kudumbashree Mission, in association with local bodies, plans to develop the current Ashraya scheme for the implementation of the project. 

The Destitute Free Kerala project will benefit 1.60 lakh people who don’t have anyone to take care for them. Out of this, 10,716 people belong to scheduled castes category. Already 773, out of the 1,034 local bodies in the state have submitted a detailed project report for implementing the project to Kudumbashree Mission.  The scrutinizing of the projects reports is taking place at Kudumbashree Mussion and will get  the clearance soon. The project aims at  the total rehabilitation of the destitute by finding them a source of living and developing their social and economic status. The beneficiaries of Destitute Free Kerala project will be provided food, treatment, clothes, welfare pensions, schooling, land and house. Kudumbashree Mission and local bodies will also provide training to the beneficiaries on several self-employment opportunities. The members of the destitute families are already being given skill training the centrally sponsored programmes  Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) and National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). Those who do not have homes of their own will be included in the LIFE Mission project and will be given houses. The Destitute Free Kerala project thereby aims at making the destitute self sustained. The initial activities of the Destitute Free Kerala was started during 19 October 2017.

Kudumbashree Mission to sign MoU with Amazon

Kudumbashree Misison will soon sign MoU with the online shopping site 'Amazon'. The MoU would be signed between Shri.S. Harikishore IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission and the representatives of 'Amazon.in' in the presence of Shri. A.C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Governments, Government of Kerala at the function proposed to be held at Government Guest House, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram on 27 February 2019.

Kudumbashree Mission  had already started displaying the products of Kudumbashree's micro enterprises in Amazon.in and had received its very first order from Himachal Pradesh. The products produced by Kudumbashree women's micro enterprises units are widely accepted among the community because of its ethnicity and purity. As the demand for Kudumbashree products started increasing day by day, Kudumbashree Mission had started finding new marketing platforms for fulfilling real customer's requirements through permanent markets, nano markets, kiosks etc. Kudumbashree Mission had also launched an online portal called www.kudumbashreebazaar.com for marketing the products.
 
In the initial stage of selling Kudumbashree products through 'amazon.in', Kudumbashree Mission is planning to display 100 products from various micro enterprises across the state in trial basis. Kudumbashree Mission have also  started an exclusive office in Thiruvananthapuram for handling amazon order and customer care services.  Convergence with 'amazon.in' is made possible through a project called 'Amazon Saheli' which was developed for promoting India’s rural women micro entrepreneurs. Handicrafts, beauty products, handloom, toiletries, soaps, cleaning substances, ayurvedic products etc are the main categories of products displayed.

Kudumbashree ADSs bags National Award

Kudumbashree area development societies (ADSs) bagged a national award from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for increasing their income through sanitation and waste management activities under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). Maruthadi ADS in Kollam Corporation and Kanakkanchery ADS in Perithalmanna, Malappuram district, are the ADSs which bagged the award. Shri.S. Harikishore, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission and the representatives from municipality and officials received the award at the programme held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 15 February 2019.  

Ninety Kudumbashree women are the  part of sanitation and waste management activities under the Maruthadi ADS. They are  producing compost out of the organic waste. They had also been supporting the  implementation of green protocol in events held in the area by completely avoiding the use of plastic. The women were earning Rs.6,000 a month through this.The women dealing the sanitation and waste management activities in Kanakkanchery  ADS makes Rs 5,000 a month. 

The selection committee comprising of Shri. S. Harikishore, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission, Smt. R. Girija, Director, Urban Affairs, Shri. Binu Francis, Former Urban Programme Officer selected  the 16 applications received from the urban local bodies and sent it to the Union Ministry. On receiving the applications, officials of the Quality Council of India visited the 16 ADSs and submitted detailed reports to the Ministry. The first prize is Rs.2 lakhs,  Rs.1.5 lakhs, and Rs.1 lakh are the second and third prizes respectively. Kudumbashree is the nodal agency for implementing NULM in the state.

Kudumbashree launches Photography Competition- ‘Kudumbashree oru Nerchithram’ Season 2

For motivating the aspiring photographers and to propagate the activities of Kudumbashree Mission through photographs, Kudumbashree Mission launched Season 2 of ‘Kudumbashree or Nerchithram’ Photography Competition. Kudumbashree Mission which envisions at eradicating poverty through women in Kerala had successfully completed 19 revolutionary years.

The contestants should submit photographs that would reflect the 18 priority projects of Kudumbashree Mission.The entries should reach Kudumbashree Mission office on or before 5 PM, 15 March 2019. The jury comprising of renowned photographers and officials of Kudumbashree Mission will select the winner. The Award for the Best Photographer will be Rs 20,000. The second prize and third prize will be Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively. Rs 1000 each will be issued for 10 entries as consolation prizes.

The first season of ‘Kudumbashree or Nerchithram’ was conducted during November- December 2017 and was a grant success. More than 500 photographs were received and it is on following the success of the competition, that the season 2 of the competition is being launched.

1,000 crore for Kudumbasree projects in Budget

തിരുവന്തപുരം: സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച 2019-20 വാര്‍ഷിക ബജറ്റില്‍ കുടുംബശ്രീക്ക് അഭിമാന നേട്ടം. കുടുംബശ്രീയുടെ സ്ത്രീശാക്തീകരണ ദാരിദ്ര്യനിര്‍മാര്‍ജന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഊര്‍ജിതമാക്കുന്നതിനും വരുമാനദായക പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളില്‍ ഗുണപരമായ മാറ്റം വരുത്തുന്നതിനുമായി ആയിരം കോടി രൂപയാണ്   ബജറ്റില്‍ വകയിരുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഇതില്‍ 258 കോടി രൂപ സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാരിന്‍റെ ബജറ്റ് വിഹിതവും നാനൂറ് കോടി രൂപ തദ്ദേശ സ്വയംഭരണസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുമായുള്ള സംയോജന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും ബാക്കി തുക വിവിധ കേന്ദ്രാവിഷ്കൃത പദ്ധതികളില്‍ നിന്നുമാണ് ലഭ്യമാകുക.

പ്രളയാനന്തര ജീവനോപാധി വികസനത്തിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കുടുംബശ്രീ ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ബ്രാന്‍ഡ് അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ള കേന്ദ്രീകൃത മാര്‍ക്കറ്റിംഗ് സംവിധാനം കൊണ്ടുവരുമെന്നതാണ് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ പ്രഖ്യാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്ന്. ഇതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി ന്യൂട്രിമിക്സ് പോഷക ഭക്ഷണം, മാരിക്കുട, സുഭിക്ഷ നാളികേര ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍, ശ്രീ ഗാര്‍മെന്‍റ്സ്, കേരള ചിക്കന്‍, കയര്‍ കേരള, കരകൗശല ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍, ഇനം തിരിച്ച തേന്‍ ബ്രാന്‍ഡുകള്‍, ഹെര്‍ബല്‍ സോപ്പുകള്‍, കറിപ്പൊടികള്‍, ഉണക്ക മത്സ്യം, ആദിവാസി ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെ  പന്ത്രണ്ട് തരം വ്യത്യസ്ത ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍  ബ്രാന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്ത് വിപണനം നടത്തും.  ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങളുടെ വിപണനത്തിന് കുടുംബശ്രീയുടെ 200 ചെറു വിപണന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളും ഹോംഷോപ്പ് ശൃംഖലയും കൂടുതല്‍ സജ്ജമാകും. കൂടാതെ സിവില്‍ സപ്ലൈസ് കണ്‍സ്യൂമര്‍ ഫെഡ്, സൂപ്പര്‍ മാര്‍ക്കറ്റുകള്‍ എന്നിവ വഴിയും കുടുംബശ്രീ ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങളുടെ വിപണനം ഊര്‍ജിതമാക്കും. നിലവില്‍ കുടുംബശ്രീ സൂക്ഷ്മസംരംഭ മേഖലയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് വരുമാനമാര്‍ഗങ്ങള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് ഇത് സഹായകമാകും. സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വഴിയോരങ്ങളില്‍ വിശ്രമസൗകര്യവും ടോയ്ലറ്റ് സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന നൂറ് 'ടേക് എ ബ്രേക്' കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളും ആരംഭിക്കും. പെട്രോള്‍ പമ്പുകളില്‍ ഇതേ മാതൃകയില്‍ സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കുന്നതിന് പെട്രോള്‍ കമ്പനികളുമായി കരാറിലേര്‍പ്പെടും. ഇതിലൂടെ നിരവധി അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടവനിതകള്‍ക്ക് വരുമാന ലഭ്യത ഉറപ്പാക്കാനാകും.

സൂക്ഷ്മസംരംഭ ശൃംഖലയെയും സേവനമേഖലയേയും ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനും വനിതകള്‍ക്ക് തൊഴില്‍ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനും സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ എല്ലാ സി.ഡി.എസുകളിലും കെട്ടിട നിര്‍മാണ പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള വനിതാ മേസ്തിരിമാരുടെ സംഘങ്ങള്‍ രൂപീകരിക്കുന്നതും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ നേട്ടമാണ്. കുടുംബശ്രീയുടെ കീഴില്‍ നിലവിലുള്ള വനിതാ കെട്ടിട നിര്‍മാണ യൂണിറ്റുകള്‍ക്ക് പുറമേയാണിത്. കൂടാതെ എല്ലാ സി.ഡി.എസുകളിലും ഇലക്ട്രിഫിക്കേഷന്‍, പ്ലബിംഗ്, ഗാര്‍ഹിക ഉപകരണങ്ങളുടെ റിപ്പയറിംഗ് എന്നിവ ഏറ്റെടുത്ത് ചെയ്യാന്‍ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള യൂട്ടിലിറ്റി സേവന സംഘങ്ങളും ഈവന്‍റ് മാനേജ്മെന്‍റ് ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളും രൂപീകരിക്കും.

വയോജന സംരക്ഷണം ഉറപ്പു വരുത്തുന്നിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വയോജനങ്ങളുടെ ഇരുപതിനായിരം അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങള്‍ രൂപീകരിച്ച് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് ഓരോന്നിനും 5000 രൂപ വീതം നല്‍കും.  പഞ്ചായത്തുകളില്‍ പകല്‍വീടുകളില്‍ കഴിയുന്നവരുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടവും കുടുംബശ്രീയെ ഏല്‍പിക്കും. ട്രാന്‍സ് ജെന്‍ഡര്‍ വിഭാഗത്തിലുള്ളവര്‍ക്കായി നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന മഴവില്‍ പദ്ധതിയില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തി ഇവര്‍ക്കായി പ്രത്യേക അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളും രൂപീകരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ 65000 അയല്‍ക്കൂട്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നാലു ശതമാനം പലിശക്ക് 3500 കോടി രൂപ ബാങ്ക് വായ്പയും ലഭ്യമാക്കും. മാനസിക ബൗദ്ധിക വെല്ലുവിളികള്‍ നേരിടുന്ന കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കായി കുടുംബശ്രീയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ തദ്ദേശ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ 100 ബഡ്സ് സ്കൂളുകള്‍ കൂടി ആരംഭിക്കും.

 കാര്‍ഷിക മേഖലയ്ക്ക് പ്രത്യേക ഊന്നല്‍ നല്‍കുന്നതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കുടുംബശ്രീ നാട്ടുചന്തകളെ സ്ഥിരം വിപണന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായി ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്നതാണ് മറ്റൊന്ന്. വൈവിധ്യങ്ങളായ നാടന്‍ ഇലക്കറികള്‍ക്കു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള കൂളര്‍ ചേമ്പര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഈ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. 2019-20 വര്‍ഷം ഈ ഉപജീവന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുന്നതിലൂടെ  25000 സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക് പ്രതിദിനം 400-600 രൂപ വരുമാനം ലഭ്യമാക്കാനാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്. മൃഗപരിപാലനത്തിനും ചെറുകിട സംരംഭള്‍ക്കും മറ്റും വായ്പയെടുത്ത് കടക്കെണിയിലായ സ്ത്രീ സംഘങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി പുനരുദ്ധാരണ പദ്ധതി ആവിഷ്ക്കരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്  20 കോടി രൂപ അധികം വകയിരുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

The first order for Kudumbashree's products was received from Himachal Pradesh. Kudumbashree products are produced by Kudumbashree women's micro enterprises units, which are widely accepted by the community because of its ethnicity and purity. Kudumbashree Snehitha Gender Help desk launches exclusive website

Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission  developed a website for Snehitha Gender Help Desk, Thrissur, in collaboration with  the Department of Media Studies, St.Thomas College, Thrissur. It is as part of convergence activities of gender team of Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission that the website is launched. www.snehithathrissur.net, the website of  Snehitha Gender Help Desk, Thrissur was launched by Shri. S. Harikishore, Executive Director, Kudumbashree Mission at District Co-operative Bank Hall, Thrissur on 14 January 2019.

The website consultancy service is provided on voluntary service basis. Mr. Joseph, Assistant Professor and Ms. Keerthana, Multimedia 6th Semester degree student are giving technical support to Snehitha for website related works. Thrissur Snehitha Gender Help Desk is also planning to add online login facility in this website for operating Snehitha services. 

In Snehitha website home page we can catch 'what we do', 'who are we', 'field activities', 'gallery', 'services', 'events', 'toll free number 18004252573' and 'cover photos'. Under the 'what we do' tab the services extended by Snehitha is narrated such as counselling, service providing, shelter, rehabilitation and field level activities. 

In the counselling part,  details about individual counselling, couple counselling, marital therapy, family therapy, tele counselling, premarital counselling, child guidance and career counselling are included. The service providing part contains the details about mediation, legal aid, legal clinic and  networking with other department and institutions. In the shelter part, the services being provided to Snehitha inmates and inmate engagement activities  are described.The Rehabilitation part narrates about  livelihood orientation, livelihood trainings, 20 days EDII Program and e-job assistance services. In the field level activities area the Snehitha out reach activities such as community counselling, Gender Resource Centers (GRCs), Block Level Counselling Centres(BLCCs), Snehitha Calling Bell, Campaigns, Nattukkoottam, Gender Sesitization workshops, Group Counselling programs and Model Gender Resource Centres etc are explained.

By launching the website www.snehithathrissur.net,  Snehitha Gender Help Desk, Thrissur has made a leap in extending the gender related assistance to the common women in the district.

Kudumbashree launches ARISE to extend skill training for self employment

Kudumbashree launched ARISE (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Self Employment), to extend skill training for self employment. Shri. A.C Moideen, Minister for Local Self Governments, Government of Kerala inaugurated the skill training programme held at Government Guest House, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram on 17 January 2019. '#shecan' the book which comprises of the features on innovative micro enterprises of Kudumbashree was released at the function. The website of 'Harsham Caregivers for elder care', the innovative and a flagship programme of Kudumbashree which gives livelihood opportunities to many committed Kudumbashree members was also launched at the function.

ARISE aims at extending skill training to 50,000 flood affected families, in various sectors thereby equipping them for paid employment. The campaign mainly aims at helping them in attaining resilience. Those who reside in the non flood affected areas can also become part of the skill training programme. ARISE will extend training in house keeping, sales, laundry & ironing, day care, agriculture related jobs, electrical works, electronic repair, plumbing and data entry.

The tenure of the training programme will be of 3 months. Interested men from Kudumbashree families may also become part of the programme. Along with helping people to start individual-group enterprises the campaign also aims at strengthening the micro enterprise sector of Kudumbashree. A survey was conducted using Kudumbashree Block Coordinators for finding out the sectors in which NHG women are interested. It was found that data entry, plumping, electronic repairing, electrical works, agriculture related jobs, laundry, ironing, sales, housekeeping, day care etc are the sectors in which they are interested. It was understood that by extending training they could get an income of their own which would help in eradicating their poverty.

The campaign activities were already started in all districts, And interested candidates had made registrations at their respective CDSs during 15 December 2018- 1 January 2019. The skill training would be extended through Government accredited training agencies and empanelled training agencies.

Fourth Phase of Gender Self Learning Programme launched

The fourth phase of the Gender Self Learning Programme was officially launched. Shri. A.C. Moideen, Minister, Local Self Government Department, Government of Kerala inaugurated the NHG level campaign of the fourth phase of Gender Self Learning Programme at District Co-operative Bank Hall, Thrissur on 14 January 2019.

Kudumbashree Mission had been framing and successfully implementing different programmes focusing women through Gender Self Learning Programme (GSLP) for the past 11 years. Vulnerability study, crime mapping, Neetham campaign, Pusthaka yatra were the activities implemented by Kudumbashree as the after effect of Gender Self Learning Programme. The themes Women & employment, Women & health Women & mobility had already been discussed in the last 3 modules of Gender Self Learning Programme.

The programme is organised in NHGs through group discussions. Gender Status- Equality & Justice will be the theme discussed in the fourth module.The concept is meant to create an environment for women to learn what empowerment is for themselves and how they should learn to recognize suppression, vulnerability etc. The GSLP programme will be organised at NHGs for 6 months. A book has also been prepared for the self learning process reach to the 43 lakh members in 2.77 NHGs. 300 facilitators from 14 districts across Kerala had been selected and trained. The facilitators will select one member each from every NHGs and thereby equip the NHGs for the self learning programme.

Gender Self Learning Programme could be regarded as the first social educational process that would have direct implications on rights and entitlements of women in grass roots. Unlike conventional women empowerment programmes that adhere to awareness classes, gender self learning programme aims at facilitating neighborhood groups on discussions that reflect on discrimination, violence and inequality. Each woman represented in the network is regarded as a participant, information provider and knowledge creator.
