Posted on Monday, October 10, 2022
A two-day workshop was jointly organized by Kudumbashree and KILA as part of the idea generation based on the theme 'Susthiram' - Localization of Sustainable Development Goals through Kudumbashree at Grand Chaithram Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram on 30 September 2022 and 1 October 2022. The main objective of localization is to provide all-round development in the lives of the bottom level of the society. The activities related to this will be developed by focusing on the Kudumbashree NHGs.

Through the localization of the sustainable development goals, it is intended to achieve these through the Kudumbashree system by focusing the Sustainable Development Goals on ten different themes. The ten themes included in the Sustainable Development Goals are poverty-free and high-livelihood rural-urban areas, healthy, child-friendly, water-rich rural-urban areas, clean and green rural-urban areas, self-sufficient and well-equipped rural-urban areas, socially secure rural-urban areas, good governance, gender-equitable development, and quality education. In this regard, the emphasis is on increasing the efficiency of the NHG system in such a way that the bottom level NHGs achieve the goals set in this regard.

A preliminary report was prepared after discussing various ideas related to setting sustainable development goals and the changes to be made in the Kudumbashree organizational system, working methods and mission system for this purpose.
