The Unified Local Self-Government Department was implemented with the aim of providing services to the people more efficiently, quickly and corruption-free. The existing departments of Panchayat, Rural Development, Urban Affairs, Local Self-Government Engineering Department and Town and Country Planning were coordinated in the state. Empowerment of local bodies is essential to effectively deliver the government's activities to the people. As a part of it, five departments of the same nature were coordinated.
